I saw five -- Spiderman, Minority Report, The Time Machine, Men in Black and Austin Powers. And I only saw those because Mr. JB rented them and I happened to wander through the room and sit down while he was watching them. Clearly, I'm not a big movie buff. For some reason, I find it incredibly difficult to sit in one place for two hours -- I just keep thinking of all the other things I could be doing.
17, i am surprise, that I havent seen more, I was expecting half. One question Drumline cracked the top 50??? I thought Blue Crush or even About a Boy made more money. On another note, I have 6 of them on DVD with intentions to buy 8 Mile and Jackass when they come out next month.
I saw 18 of those in the theater (Spider-Man, Star Wars, Goldmember, MIB2, Die Another Day, Catch Me If You Can, XXX, The Ring, Sweet Home Alabama, Mr. Deeds, The Bourne Identity, Pnic Room, Maid in Manhattan, John Q. Insomnia, Changing Lanes, The Tuxedo and Big Fat Liar). And only one more on video - Ice Age (though I saw a couple of the ones I saw in the theater on video, too).
By the way, About a Boy came in 55th for the year. Blue Crush 59th. In the next 100 movies (to make up the Top 150 total), I saw only an additional 16 movies, and only an additional 4 on video). So I went relatively light on trips to the movie houses last year. And I know of at least two movies I saw in 2002 that aren't even in the Top 150 that I can see (Hollywood Ending and Scotland, PA).
Wow. Only saw 3 of them, all in theaters. To save a bit of money for other stuff, we don't go too often. We do like to go to second-run movies if it's convenient, since that's a great deal. When they go to video, we wait until they're out of the "new release" section - just a little rule we have with ourselves. Only exception is if it's at a friend's house and they have it. So, by the time we see stuff, the rest of the world has moved on... Agree with Mrs. JB about having better things to do than sit on my butt for two hours... I can stand it for one movie, but I really don't see how people watch more than one at once. If I sat around doing that, I can just see myself getting really fat and becoming one with the couch. Not pretty at all.
I saw 27, all in theaters. I regret paying to see xXx, Mr Deeds, and The Scorpion King. I wanted a refund for those three, big time! Big ups to Blue Crush which MrPaige brought up. One of my favorite bad movies of the year. The whole Karate Kid hip hopped soundtrack thing was nice!
Hey! I was the one that mentioned it!!! BTW, according to Boxofficemojo.com, Big Trouble was #150. I thought it was a pretty funny movie and deserved to rank better than that. I guess it was the whole Terrorist theme after 9/11.
I saw 5 in the theatre and rented 2 for the kids (Ice Age and Lilo and Stich). My favorite: Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.
One, Spider-Man. Hard to believe (the only other movie I saw) Undercover Brother didn't crack the top 50, what with such as classics as Snow Dogs and Spy Kids 2 making it.
Oops, sorry. I didn't like Big Trouble much though. When you look at this list you see why Hollywood puts out so much crap, they make money with it.
