Simple poll... Feel free to elaborate with your job description, tasks, etc. I'm starting a consulting internship this summer and I was told to expect 50-80 hour work weeks. Currently I am working 10-20 hour weeks at school this semester.
between 40 and 50. Sometimes a little more, sometimes less. Getting into our busy season from now through the summer. I'll likely be on the high side of that until around September.
Expected to work 40, but I always go a little bit over (usually just an hour or two). Gives me a little more to lean on in salary / time off negotiations. Every once in a while I get freelance work, so I guess that ups the average a bit as well.
Same here. Some weeks are rough and extra time is unavoidable, but usually I try to keep it to the minimum. I value time out of the office very highly.
50 hours/wk at work 6am-4pm M-F, another ~10-30 hours outside of that spread throughout the week/weekend.
I'm salary and 20-30 hours is what I put in most of the time. However, if there are emergencies I have to be ready to fly anywhere at a moments notice.
I work 12 hour shifts everyday and sometimes Saturdays. The work is not very heavy so is not that bad. Not bad money either for not having a college degree.
To the 60% of respondents that work 40+ hrs a week. Why? Is it required? Do you enjoy your job/career that much to put in so many hours.
