How many games short of the final playoff spot will the Rockets be?

In light of the good basketball that the Rockets have been playing, do you think they can sustain it for the rest of the year and finish strong? I was wondering how many games short of the final playoff spot the Rockets will be? Realistically I see the Rockets making up 5 - 6 games and being about 4 to 5 games short. Mathematically the Rockets are not out of it and I think if they could get on a 6 or 7 game winning streak people might notice.

Lets look at the next few games:

    Chicago,@Clipps,@Sac,@Seattle,@G.S,@Utah

Of these 6 I believe 5 of them are winnable with beating Sacramento at home damn near impossible. But if somehow we could win that one also, that would be a 9 game winning streak.

We could easily be 6 or 7 games behind UTAH at that point and with a win would own the tiebreaker.

UTAH's next games until they play Rockets:
@Charlotte,@Det,@Minn,Det,Washing,G.S,@Seattle...all except G.S are playoff contending teams so they will get their best games from them. I say they go 2-5. They are getting killed by Charlotte as I type. I say Utah we could possibly catch before Seattle. 8 of their last 10 games are against playoff contending teams.

    Seattle has an easier schedule:
Wash,@Clips,G.S.,Houston,@Denver,Utah...It would be real hard to catch them and it would take a massive nosedive from them and us to basically go on a couple of winning streaks.

In my opinion we will catch the Clips and Phoenix.
Clips have games remaining against :
    @Lakers,@Seattle,Houston,,@G.S, Phoenix,S.A,@SAC,@PHX,UTAH,@UTAH,@Dallas,Denver,@Seattle,SAC,Min,Memphis,@G.S.

Phoenix has 7 of their last 8 games against playoff contenders and it doesnt matter with them cause they will self-destruct. I guarantee we will catch them.

Yea yea I know it is wishful thinking but hey we still have a chance. That fat lady is only warming her vocals in my opinion but most of you probably think she has just about finished her concert. :)

If we win half of those 15 that we lost in a row then we are a shoe-in for the playoffs.

As long there is life there is reason to hope which is what keeps me tuned.

great to see a cato13 thread...

what else is there to do but cheer for wins?
will one season ticket holder out there tell us they are a tanker, or want to see Francis/Mobley limited to 30 minutes? Hey, if nothing else, this is entertainment...and very expensive. I want to see the BEST we can do!!!!!! Always!!

but I must admit, I recently went over to the darkside for one game.

Achebe had me all convinced to get excited about watching draftsource.net for updates on college players and our draft position, rattling off all these cool dreamcasting ideas. I eased off worrying about losing. Cat was developing just nicely; KT was developing just nicely; and so was Griffin. Even though Francis needs some serious reps to develop his game after missing 20 odd games...who cares if we lose?

    That lasted for one game.

On Cuttino bobblehead afternoon vs Utah, at the last minute I took a friend's son for the boy scout activities. I've never talked bball with that 9 yr old before, and I'll tell you, that was one bright kid, and one great fan. He booed Malone without prompting. He knew all the players' names. He said, "that's a backcourt violation." wow!! He was literally on the edge of his seat the *whole* game. No way you can watch a game live with a kid like that and not root for ALL WINS!!! That made me think...you know...there are kids like that at every game, just thrilled to be there...thrilled to see a win.

    nothing better than wins!
we can always lose games next year!

    GO ROCKETS!!!

btw: sorry R0ckets03 for missing you at the Mediterranean deli; I got "stuck" with this kid!!

Crispee, thanks and where have you been? Anyway that game against Utah was a great game. I was also a part of the high 5 club that night and that was one of the best days of my life. I swear I was like a kid in the candy store.

Anyway I agree with you on Mobley's progress and Griffin's progress. And I am even more surprised by Kenny's this year since I have had my doubts and like Mo Taylor better as a player. But Kenny's game has been taken to another level this year and next year is gonna be interesting.

Anyway we will win big the rest of the year I believe but hey I always believe the Rockets will win every game. (Except for Sacramento) Ever notice how they hit everything when they play against us? They got killed by NY tonight and Stojokavich only had 12 on 6/15 but against us he will be like 13 of 18.
