If Kevin Walter can haul in 45-50 catches a year with noodle arm slinging him the rock, I don't think it's unrealistic to expect 65-75 catches from Hopkins.
I expect around the same number for Hopkins 50-60 catches but he will do a lot more with those 50 catches than Walter did.
Seems high to me (and would be the 'we don't want to overload Hop' that Kubiak said yesterday). Maybe not. 47-55 is what I was thinking. I'm more interested to see if he'll be a redzone threat since Johnson rarely seems to get any looks.
100 for aj 60+ for O.D bc that's how he rolls 58 for mr big hands 40 for Garrett 40 for foster 38 for Martin 2o for posey 5 for Lestar 1 for watt? that comes out to 362 passes completed and over 4,300 yards for the 'game manager' qb. Getting foster in the open field is something we haven't done since the departure of KS. Miss that dude and his matching tattoo. Foster's receptions have slowly been decreasing since then. =(
50+ receptions and that'll be a great first year. We're a run first team, so only so many balls to go around.
It looks like we'll do a lot of quick stuff with Hopkins. Get him the ball and see what he can do with it. Basically, what fast tempo teams do...treat a quick throw as a running play. Easy yards.
Deandre has looked ok, not great just ok. Outside of the TD which was great he has looked very mediocre and I have not seen any YAC ability. I haven't watched practice and I hear he's killing it out there but he doesn't look very explosive in the games.
Yeah, I'm not sure that will be his MO. He appears to be more of a - go up and get the ball in traffic guy. Which is great. But Schaub hasn't really gambled or attacked in those situations so I'm not sure we'll see Hopkins utilized properly this year.
