I just had a thread closed! Score 1 point for me. Here was one response: It seems there are common websites that make the rounds of many BBSes, and this is a complaint I've seen in different places - but how does one see all these different boards with the same recurrent post? 10, 50, 100? (And at what point does one give up eating and bathing in order to keep up with all the internet novelties?) So, I started thinking (no, really) - how many bulletin boards total do people typically belong to? And of those that you belong to, how many do you participate in regularly? Other than this board, I have one other board that I actually participate in, but I've had quite a few of boards where I'll sign up, make a few posts, then lose interest.
I'm actively part of only one - this one, but I'm part of 3 others which I glance at occaisonally but never post.
I belong to probably half a dozen - a couple musician-related boards, HoustonProFootball.com's board and two or three related to website design and development. I post very rarely on the Texans board and almost never on the musicians boards - mostly for reference. I post sparingly on a couple of the website design boards and just lurk on another. This is the only one I really post on regularly.
5 or 6 different ones.. a couple of technical boards a computer security one one other basketball board and a couple for fun this is the only one that I actively post to.
I'm active in 2. This one and The Drummer Cafe. I lurk on the Texans board. Oh yeah, I TROLL the bbs of a band I used to play in. I troll it HARD. I've been banned twice. They have no idea.
no, it's "what is it". and it looks like he's a yao fan. anyway, someone started a thread a while back about the top 100 message boards. one that caught my eye was called general mayhem. i look through it once a month or so.
Owlzone.com Coogfans.com (banned for saying they didn't deserve to host a regional two years ago) Now lurk only Hornfans.com (banned for saying that Tim Moss should be in jail) now there under a new name Baylorfans.com TexAgs.com JohnKerry.com InfernalBrideGroom.com (lurk only -- this site is *liberal* to put it mildly) TheBootleg.com (stanford's site) Houstonprofootball A couple of Network54 forums
Houstonarchitecture.info (great board about Houston and it's buildings and what's under construction, etc) Owlzone.com IAHspottersclub - the yahoo group flyertalk airliners.net Coogfans, Baylorfans, Texags, Hornfans
This is the only one I've posted more than five times, I think. However, I am a member at the following: www.nancies.org www.antsmarching.org www.houstonprofootball.com www.cheddarheadpackhouston.com Technically, I'm also a member of the Swirve boards, even an administrator. Unfortunately, I have no idea what my name or password is.
this and longhornfanzone.com. i lurked there for about 2 years (i got my posting fix here) and finally registered back in september and now have racked up about 28 or so posts in 5 months. that's classic RM95, administrator can't sign in.
