Lets make it a prediction game here -- we should know today. Given his history with the Rockets, I say he's out for the year.

The trade for Posey is looking better. Hopefully we will see more of Boki

Rice's value comes NEXT year. What will his contract be worth in trade in its the last year?

A year, by the way, is too optimistic. He'll return after the All Star break, @one month.

    I voted for 1 month-3 months.

It's going to be the standard 4-8 weeks explanation.

I'm saying two weeks (or less than...whichever it was). Just long enough to give Posey the starting role.

    A left shoulder??

I say less than two weeks for this injury.

Mo's two bad achilles tendons are going to be worse. I knew I saw him shooting jumpers off his left foot like never before. "I was trying to stay off my bad foot, and ended up hurting the other one." So, if Mo goes down, who says the Posey trade is looking good, again??

    Clutch,

Wouldn't a better poll be: "How long do you WANT Glen Rice to be out?"

    :)

Then I would have voted for the season ending deal.

DD...you beat me to it! I was thinking along the same lines. I hate to see anyone get hurt,but....as long as he's hurt,it would be nice to see him be out for as long as it takes:

1.Posey to entrench himself as the starter, and
2.Boki to see if he can earn a spot in the rotation.

Don't mean to bash Rice - but I will. He's a 9 million dollar player waiting to get off the Rocket books. If I were coach, I would only play him when we need a three and he only gets the green light from the top of the key. The rest of his game is gone.

Given Doc's post - I'd say out for the year. On DD's note - I sure hope so. He can sit on the bench and carry a clipboard, though. Maybe he can draw a play, or b**** out a player. He's got nothin' to lose.

In that case, the KT trade would seem a bit premature...but I think Terrence Morris can play backup PF decent enough to cover up in that regard. And with Posey, any minutes that Morris might lose at SF would be covered. Regardless of what happens with Taylor, KT was always the one that was going to be traded. Mo's contract made him almost untradeable and Griffin is seen as the future at PF, so I still think the Posey trade looks good.

Anyone hear anything about Mo? We could really use him for the remaining Minnesota games.

I could have sworn 610 said Glen was day to day, but here's hoping it's a few months...

    Work your magic Keith...

i bet hes out 2 weeks. i hate to say it, but i WISH he was out for the season.
posey is exactly the kind of player we need at the 3 (strong d and no need for lots of shots-the opposite of rice). i think that t-mo and bostjan could hold down the back-up. right now id take either of them over rice anyway.
lets hope that posey makes the most out of it.

I like Rice with the fact that he seems to be the only player who can chalenge Steve's offensive decision making, aka, pass less, dribble more. Whenver after Rice spoke, Steve seems to have a nice all-around game.

Since he'll miss several days and games, put him on the IL and activate Collier? Sign someone to a 10 day? Shoot him? What?

based on Doc Rocket's post, i'm going to predict that he's out for damn near the entire season.

next on the injury list: Cat Mobley. give it a month from now.

    after that...

Yao Ming: somewhere around the 65-70 game mark. out for 2 weeks.

gotta love the nba, the nba injured list, the business of the nba, and unprovable lies...

RudyT has Rice starting because of he spreads defenses with the 3 point threat. Who can replace him? It may be to soon to give up on Glen, we may need him yet.
Posey is in a catch 22 situation..if he develops a 3 point game as a restricted free agent, his value probably rises to the price the Rockets cant afford. If he can't hit from the arc, defenses will sag on Steve and Cat and also make it tougher to get the ball to Yao. Poseys 4 for 4 from the arc against Denver spawns optimism, but Rox fans should be able to breathe easier if Rice is available.
