... if he keeps throwing himself toward the rim? I mean its great to see him dunk over people, but sooometimes he just throws himself so violently into the throng of low post players that its scary. Isnt that how he injured his ankle this year? Im not sure, but he needs to develop a more complete offensive game as well as defesively.

I would love to see him learn to glide almost effortlessly as Payton does. Or maaster the art of the 15 foot jumper, like Cassel and Stockton.

Rght now his offense seems to consist of pulling up shooting threes, similar to Van Excel, or dribling, dribling dribling till he gets past his man, and then throwing himself towards the basket. If he doesnt become more versatile, Im scared his career will be a short one.

Thats exactly the main difference between a "veteran" and a younger player or "rookie." As Francis gets older, i believe he wil get wiser. Micheal Jordan did the same thing at the beginning of his career, and at the end, settled for more midrange shots instead of recklessness. Dont worry Stevie will get it out of his system.

Yeah, I agree. Stevie did turn his ankle way too much for comfort last season. It's scary every time he comes down wrong. One can't help but be reminded of Walton, or Bowie, etc... True, they were a lot bigger, but if you mess up your feet, that's it.

You're right, he should work on more stuff than jumping 43 inches off the ground, even though it is friggin' amazing. Isn't it funny how most of the modern greats started out as dunkers and became their best when they focused on creating shots(Hakeem, Jordan, Malone)? (Insertion: Yeah, exactly what Francis3422 said. CRISCO Dont jinx him now !

He will learn once we get a superstar type player up front. Right now he will go crazy.

Francis will definitely last for a long time. As his career goes on he will learn to shoot the 15-footer and develop more of a midrange game. He himself said that he will work on his midrange game this summer.

Does the name Kevin Johnson ring a bell? I thought the exact same thing when I saw Steve for the first time in a Rockets PJ, he slashed to the lane and took off for a put back off of someones missed shot and got bumped in midair and just came crashing down, at this point I thought our season was over but he bounced back up and played the rest of the game with no noticable sideeffects. Anyhow I believe Steve will learn his lesson next year and will be more of a complete ball player.
