Any guesses as to when all Rocket free agents will be either signed or traded or signed by someone else? I mean the Hakeem situation kept these guys from signing so far...so how long do we have to wait now? I say everybody will be accounted for (either signed,traded or gone) by August 16.
That view thing is weird. If you see a bunch of views but no replies, it makes you feel like a loser, huh? Anyway, here's a reply. Mo and Shandon will be resolved by Tues/Wed. Moochie might take until Friday. Everything should be ironed out though by 08/10 or the following Monday.
I'd guess by the end of next week. Priorities (in order): 1) Sign Mo. I do not doubt that this will be done, and done quickly. I think he'll play ball, financially speaking. 2) Obtain a serviceable big man to start at 5. The list isn't very long any more, and it should be relatively easy with the exception and possibly SA in a S/T. I suspect it might be Marc Jackson, unless SA is used. 3) Sign Bullard. No problems here, but might have to wait for actual signing until over cap. 4) Sign Moochie for a reasonable sum. I think this can be done easily, as the Devil won't have a huge ego to manipulate. 5) Sign Shandon if he's still here. If he's not traded, I think he'll defy the Devil's wishes again and go for a reasonable sum. I think he really does want to stay with this crew, but that's just a feeling. This sounds like a fairly long to-do list, but it can actually be accomplished in just 2-3 days of frantic, scramble-the-fighters kind of work. I would think that CD has spent some of the past month coming up with a decent "if Dream bails" scenario and an action plan to deal with it, so most of it should be just phone work. So I'd guess about a week, and it'll all be done. That is, of course, unless both Falk and the Devil are as evil as I suspect... But I think that Mo, Mooch, and Shandon all genuinely want to stay here (I suspected Olajuwan didn't from the day he hired a demon-spawn/agent). But who knows. Might take a month. But we will get a big man to play in Dream's stead (can't say "replace"), Mo, Bull, and Mooch will resign, and SA will either resign or be traded to upgrade the frontcourt acquisition. Everything will be fine, and we WILL make some noise in the playoffs this upcoming season. Mark my words on that.
