Been wondering how long it takes people to get to work. For me, it takes me anywhere from an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and thirty minutes and that is just one way. There are days that I spend up to 3 hours on the road. I met a guy today that lives very close to me (like a street or two over) and we may possibly carpool. But the drive is getting to me, no question about it. How long is your commute?
i used to travel from orem to salt lake every day for work (5 years). that's about 1hr and 45 minutes a day round trip. jeebus! now my commute is about 20 minutes - from draper to orem - and it's not bad at all.
about 12 to 15 minutes, depending on traffic. With no traffic, the fastest I've ever gotten to work was 8 minutes (but I was speeding like a mofo and was lucky to hit all lights green).
In time, it's about one hour and fifteen minutes. In distance, it's close to 32 miles (Katy to Houston). Why do people immediately say how much "time" is the distance? It's a huge city and it's got traffic bottlenecks and stops everywhere. It's almost impossible to exactly make the same time on consecutive trips, unless it's a short distance without many intersections, signal lights, or just plain stops. I complain much less than the average person. The above is not a complaint, it's just something I noticed and ask.
I used to commute from the far away part of Mo City to IAH for years. In November, I went from nearly 50 miles (45 mins - 1h 15 mins) each way to zero. I work from home now.
Used to commute from Clear Lake to Downtown for five years. Would take sometimes an hour each way depending on traffic. Now I'm 4 miles/less then 10 min from work and absolutely love it. Can't believe I used to waste two hours of my life each day commuting. My parents live in Clear Lake and even driving there once in a while now seems like a huge chore since I'm not used to it.
depends..sometimes i do. depends on weather....but sometimes i get calls that are unexpected that i need to visit a client or head to court...so i need a car up at the office for that.
