    This season should be Rudy's last if this team is not 25 games better than last season.

    Griffin SHOULD make a bigger impact this season ONLY IF he receives good coaching which is HIGHLY questionable. If he or Ming are shooting 3's at any point this season, it will be a crime

    All offseason the coaches shoud have had Griffin on the weights and watching game film and emulating the styles and moves of Jermaine O'Neal. They have the exact same build and there is NO reason he could not be that type of player. I firmly believe that this is not the right coaching staff and before this team goes to the next level there will be a new coaching staff and some major player moves.

    No way Rudy gets the axe the year before the Rox move into the
    new stadium.. also, Ming seems to really like Rudy, so I would
    imagine that is another 'insurance policy' for him to stay here,
    at least 2 or 3 more years.. however, if, wit all the acknowledged
    talent on this team, if we are still floundering and failing to
    iprove, then Rudy should retire or resign after that.

    $0.02

    Are you talking about the oneal who was shut down in the WBC recently? Who showed virtually no inside dominance. EG has a better upside and will out-perform Oneal over the long haul.

    What makes you think that this coaching staff has NOT worked with EG. By the reports we are hearing from eyewittness accounts at westside, EG has bulked up 10-20 lbs and has been working on his inside moves. Also, with his obviously inspired play during the summer leagues, EG is poised for a breakout year.

    What coaching staff is needed?( where is the proof that shows that our current staff is inadequate?)
    What MAJOR player moves are needed?( Who gets traded, who stays?)

    I applaud your commitment to your opinion but the facts just do not support it.

    AssuMING he ever gets here, I have my doubts.

    I do like Rudy and hope he stays but I think he needs to better fit the scheme around our talents. I don't lke the ISO's

    Humility and self reflection should be our first consideration before we think of using the axe on someone else! Rudy has the chance of being the Coach here till he retires, even if you dont like him or his coaching.Only Les has the say so to make such a dramatic change in the direction of his Team.

    Rudy is here for the long hall. We have had only two losing seasons since he has been the head coach. Both can be contributed to serious injuries to star players.

    There is more of a chance of Francis getting the boot than Rudy and there almost no chance of that happening. Rudy is a Houston icon. He probably more recognizable to the average citizens of Houston than anybody in the Rockets organization including Francis.

    Yikes! The Rockets were 28-54 last season. Asking Rudy to win 53 games in the Western Conference is asking a lot. The Lakers only won 58 last year.

    Frankly, I'd be happy if the Rockets won 41 games this year.

    Yes, we like Rudy but nobody is untouchable. Tom Landry was certainly more of an icon than Rudy and he was forced out and Bum Phillips too if I remember correctly.

    This is off the subject but what in the world is Jerry Jones thinking? He fires Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson and hires Barry Switzer and Dave Campo.

    I am talking about the O'Neal who averaged
    PTS REB
    19.0 10.5

    For a playoff team no less. The WBC is no way to measure players, let's be honest here.

    It really is time to possibly explore a new back court. Cat & Steve are the same player and niether plays D. You can get a Mobley at the end of the 1st or early 2nd round every year. Just like you can get a Shandon Andersen in the same place.

    That is my major issue with Rudy is he has made some TERRIBLE front office decisions!

    Cat and Steve are the same player? That one is news to me... like most trolls, you probably have never watched a Rockets game and just look at PPG as an indicator of the guard play... gee, both average about 21-22 per outing... they must be the same player... :rolleyes:

    No genius, I am speaking of the fact that niether play D... True or False?

    Both like to stand out on the perimeter.. True or False

    Niether know the meaning of a fast break... True or False

    Niether is a makes team mates better... True or False

    Niether will EVER taste a championship.... time will show it to be true.

    Quit being a homer and be realistic, your heart will not hurt as bad at season's end!

    if i were you, i would seriously consider changing user names. you have already ruined this one with stupid statements like this one. i don't mean to be a prick or anything, but c'mon.

    steve = cat

    cat = low 1st, early 2nd round

    so, steve = low 1st, early 2nd round?

    steve = cat = shandn andersn?

    show me another mobley that was found in the early 2nd round/late 1st round, since they are so plentiful according to you. and what does that no offense, overrated defense punk shandn andersn have to do with any of this?

    Toner-- there is a wonderful search function on this board that allows everyone (even those who cannot distinguish between a #3 and a #5 Rockets jersey... I know it might make your head hurt a bit... but in time, you too will master the wonderful world of single digit numbers) to look up past posts... maybe then, you'll see that your observations about Steve's and Cat's defense have been brought up many times...

    Francis = All-star
    Mobley = Francis
    Mobley = All-star
    Francis + Mobley = 2 All-stars on Rockets team.

    I like yer logic Toner, except for the trade Mobley part.

    Ok, NEITHER your first post in this thread, nor the above quoted
    one, has done anything to move anyone from the opinion that
    you are obviously a microcephalic methane emission from a bovine.

    ;)

    (that means 'dumb cow fart', by the way)

    I DO NOT WANT TO GET RID OF MOBLEY, I GET RID OF MOBLEY ONLY IF IN A PKG W/ TAYLOR, CATO OR MOOCHIE

    Francis is an elite player and will only be found at the top, but his style is the same as Mobley. Mobley is an over achiever. A Mobley style player is there late first early 2nd every year, its up to the scouts to find that player.

    2001 - Tony Parker
    2000 - Morris Peterson
    1999 - Devean George
    1998 - Ruben Patterson, Rashard Lewis, Cat

    Toner:- Your inability to appreciate Francis and Mobley, leads me to believe that you have not paid attention to the development of their games. You are talking about NBA STARS, they are not just bit players but mainstays of the New Rockets for the next 10years, baring injury that is. I do agree that they need to be controled in a more ridgid manner by continual coaching during this season, so that they might play better defence and have reduced individual roles and increased roles as team players .
