Well 3 weeks have past and my team sucks. Jamal Lewis is killing me, he was my first rounder and he hasn't done a thing. I'm 1-2 in my league and I only got the 1 win because my Kicker saved me on monday night and put me ahead. So far I can't believe Peyton Manning is putting out low numbers, surprised that the colts have such a good defense, carson palmer looks great and so does the bengals defense, kevin Jones and willis haven't done much, cadallic seems to be the real deal, tampa bay defense looks solid and Baltimore defense not looking too good. Still a long way to go, 12 more weeks.
About the same as your's buddy. Freakin' Jeb Putzier couldn't catch one damn pass for me Monday night. While Ben freakin' Troupe was on my bench.
I'm doing very well. 2-1 in my most competitive league, 2-0-1 in another league, and 3-0 with the most points in another. Steve Smith and Shaun Alexander helped me win last week by an average margin of 56 points in those 3 leagues. Randy McMichael has a touchdown catch in every game so far, He's money. In one league I have to decide weekly between Culpepper (Who I traded Kerry Collins for last week in a buy low, sell high move), Marc Bulger and Carson Palmer. In another league Favre looks like he may not be up to regular Favre standards, but i've got Eli Manning looking sharp early.
2-1 in both leagues (although I only really care about one). In my main league (which is PPR for WR's and TE's) I had the #1 spot and took LT, Owens (2nd) and C.Johnson (3rd). I was blessed that Cadillac fell to me in the 4th. I lost by 3 points last week because KC decided to go for a TD at the end instead of kicking a FG. I had LT but the other owner had SA and Holt.
I'm in a scoring only league I started 14 years ago. We keep one player and Alexander was my keeper. I'm 2&1 in that league. In a yardage league I started last year with most of the people from the scoring only league I'm 0-3. I had the worse record last year and looks like I'm headed for last again this year. Guess I spent too many years evaluating talent based on scoring only to do worth a damn in a yardage league.
This is why it pays to read the Sports Guy. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/blog/entry?date=20050829&name=simmons
I didn't play this year and the way it looks I'm glad I didn't. Seems like a very unpredictable year.
I still think Lewis will bounce back, I think he has his priorities straight and the Baltimore offensive line is built for running the ball and on top of that they can't throw if their life depended on it. I think he will bounce back big. (I hope so)
Thread jack-- Anyone have good sites or tips for a guy about to play in his first fantasy basketball league?
I'm 1-2. My Carson Palmer and Eli Manning picks are turning out to be good. David Carr has found a nice place on my bench. The Indy defense is really helping me out a lot. Shaun Alexander ain't hurting me either.
i'm 3-0. tomlinson was my number one pick and it's always nice when he tosses in a passing TD to go with the three he ran in. carson palmer has also worked out well so far.
