he has always taken some of the toughest shots i've ever seen. and yet this year, he's shooting a career best? this guy is pretty amazing. any thoughts?
His footing on his jumpshot always makes me cring. I always think he's going to twist or land bad on his ankle.
This. I hate the Mavs with all my heart (well, 99%, I save the 100% for teams like the Jazz), but Dirk seriously has game.
He sticks his knees out when he shoots. He's 99% sure he won't get blocked, so every shot is like shooting an open shot.
Yo that's some whack logic, just cuz you know it's not getting blocked doesn't mean its shooting an open shot..
Just because the shot is open doesn't mean you'll make it. With his height and his jumping ability every single pull up jumper Tmac has taken is an open shot, be he doesn't convert 56% of them.
Sometimes I don't understand how he can get those shots off and than even make it. He just has a touch. When he was young I belive he played guard so that's why he is such a good shooter. But still, I have the guy and hate the Mavs.
that is not true, A higher percantage of his shots are 3pt compared to the last couple of years 10-11: 53-411 = 13% (3 ptfg/ Total FG) 9-10: 121-1496 = 8% 8-9: 170-1616 = 11%
Mavs run a good system around him.. He gets the ball in all his sweet spots..Hes not underrated, hes rated right where he should be..hes a scorer, everybody knows that but after the massive chokejob against Miami and GS a few years back its gonna be hard for him to get back to that level again in the media.. Remember hes been MVP and was almost anointed the greatest 'white' player ever. The man has game, too bad it comes at the price of being a di*k riding Maverick.
