Seriously, nobody really knows. It's like anybody that is high-flying, acrobatic, and explosive gets labeled with some imaginary ceiling when going from college or some other pro league to the NBA. He could prove to be a turnover-prone, non-jumpshooting, poor-decision-making athlete or a cross between Ja, Lamelo, and Jason Kidd.

 

If he can just shoot 33-35% he would be a ALL STAR…he is a point guard and not a wing player.

 

If you think about one of your own hobbies. Playing an instrument, maybe learning a language. Do you think you'd reached a ceiling? Or like most people, ends up in the median. Or in some cases like new year resolutions... ends up as the 'floor'.

When projecting isn't it better to talk what they actually can do.

 

Similar to Ja Morant. Morant is way far ahead on offense. Especially non-paint offense. However, Thompson projects to be a better passer/defender/rebounder. Thompson also seems to be well put together mentally.

 

He is the most athletic player in this draft and has elite height for position at 6'6/6'7 so in terms of ceiling he has the highest ceiling outside of Wemby.

But ceiling doesn't really matter Jr Smith had a higher ceiling than Kobe and Hasheem Thabeet had a higher ceiling than Draymond Green. In Amen's case if he can't learn to shoot then he gonna be a bust.

Not much if he can't shoot and keeps travelling. Isn't it funny that the most important skill in basketball is the least discussed nowadays? But he can do this and do that and he can jump 0.12 inches higher than Y who scored 29.2 ppg in his 2nd year and his lateral speed is 0.00252552 m/s more than the Z who became allstar. He can do anything in the world this includes landing spacecrafts on Jupiter blindfolded but shooting...We need shooters enough with projects.

I agree, the best thing about Amen is that his ceiling cannot be put into words......

 

I’m sure they’re standard 9 or maybe 10 feet. But he might own a nice house with vaulted ceilings or something.

 

Higher than Scoot Henderson's.
