Exactly how hard did the Rockets try to move up in the draft? who were they eyeing? what teams did they talk with? also, if there is a Fizer auction, will we be involved? who will be bait? thanks--

Let's be realistic. Other than Stevie or possibly Hakeen, who do the Rockets have that other teams want? They will NOT trade Cuttino and Cato has a large (and yet unwarranted) contract. Bryce and a future will not get Kenyon, Miles, DerMarr, etc.

C'mon that is stupid question, how hard did the Rockets try to get Miles?
I'm sure the Rockets tried to move up at some point but do you deal Steve Francis or any other solid player for a higher draft pick in a draft that was really over rated to begin with. Don't get me wrong Miles will be a great player in 4 years! That's the real key here why wait 4 years on a guy & risk what works now.

This draft out side of about 3 maybe 4 players will be a disappointment five years from now. I really sinced early last week that the Rockets where shopping the 9th pick around just because the guys they figured they wanted in there system would much lower picks & guys like Big Joel & Courtney Alexander would simply be trade bait for better team fits & some throw ins for down the road.

I think Collier was a classic Rocket pick.... I had no idea who they had eyes on to take home but it's another case of what we need not always being what we think we like...... Collier can fit in & contribute now & from what I have heard is fairly legit @ 7' with a great personality. If you can get a guy from the draft who can come in & play some solid contributing role & fit in with the Very good chemistry you have now, why would you want any thing else.

Great point Slick Willie in that last segment. I was really hoping the Rockets wouldn't take someone I had been hearing they would take for weeks. That would've been too boring. One thing I like about the Rockets' drafts is they're always exciting, you never know what you're going to get. That's what makes the drafts fun, IMO. Trying to predict who the Rockets will pick is usually futile, and I like that. When the "experts" see the Rockets pick someone they never would've predicted they'd take, they slam the choice, because it makes them look bad.
