I am a horrible, terrible, filthy slob. Honest. My mother used to say she could find me anywhere in the house (and it was a big house) just by following the trail of papers, books and empty glasses. She also used to look at my shirt when I came home from school and tell me what I had for lunch based on the stains I invariably left. Mr. JB compares me to a tornado that can move through a room and leave it in utter shambles. And, in fact, that assessment is rather mild. Anyone see that episode of "Friends" where Ross dated Rebecca Stamos and her apartment was a complete sty? I would have felt right at home there.
I am disgustingly lazy. My apartment is worse tahn a typical bachelor pad. As a matter of fact, I think it's costs me a couple of chicks.
I try to keep stuff off the floor, but the bar and coffee table are cloterred with mags, mail, and coins.
i was once was a neat freak...but my college roomates broke me with their utterly disgusting ways...shudder...i still keep things clean but now there is more stuff just lying around...
Housekeeping is not my greatest priority. Actually, right now my place is horrible. This is about as bad as it gets (since I'm busy with schoolwork), but as long as no one's coming over it doesn't tend to stay neat. Right now in my apartment: -my bathroom sink is just filthy; the drain is clogged -there are a few clean dishes in the cabinet and a few in the dishwasher. the dirty ones are either in the sink, on the table, or on the computer table. probably a few more around the house. -I need to round up the drink glasses and bottles. I did cans more recently, but there are two or three I need to clean up. -there is very little floor, barely enough to walk on. the cat knows how to block me in where I can't go around her. part of this is because our apartment is too little to have anywhere to put stuff. -several empty cardboard boxes that need to be either used or thrown out -laundry I haven't put up yet on top of my dresser and in a basket -all kinds of stuff lying around between my bed and the window -thick layers of dust on several shelves and in corners -what little floor you can see doesn't even look clean -vacuuming is out of the question, since you can't clear the floor off, though sometimes you can scoop up hair when it collects on the floor -the corners of the kitchen floor are disgusting -you can see the fuzzy stuff building up on the fan blades -don't usually see insects, but never did clean up the dead ants I sprayed a long time ago, along the baseboard -we have lots of stuff that needs to be fixed (the electrical outlets went out along one wall, clogged drains, etc.) but I refuse to let the maintenance men in with it looking like this, and I have too much work to have time to clean it up. I am a filthy slob.
Me too. Sounds like my apartment. Spring cleaning time with the break and all. Of course this time I'll keep up with it so it doesnt get too bad. lol
Isabel's situation is near identical to mine. But, I'm a guy. Yeah, it's pretty embaraassing. I've tried to clean it, but it gets worse day by day. One problem is, i don't have enough storage space for all of my clothes.
I'm a pretty decent housekeeper, but at times I can get lazy and procrastinate. On occasion, I'll leave clothes, textbooks, etc. on the floor, and I'll go a few weeks or so without dusting or cleaning my bathroom. My roommate is a %!%&ing slob; his room is so dirty that it emnates this repulsive smell that wards me off. And I don't like it when he lets the kitchen (particularly the dishes) get so dirty that it's rendered pretty much unusable. And when he does clean, he does a half-@$$ed job of it, whereas I'm much more meticulous.
i have only one rule: all the clean clothes stay by the door. the other stuff goes you know... here and there and stuff.
