When I saw this kid come out of mt zion highschool, I had no idea he would turn into the player he is today. He is so long, at 6'9 can stroke it from anywhere, and plays great D.He's just been torching teams this year, and it aint because he's been getting lucky. The most amazing thing is that he could still be in college. I think he is better than, his former teammate, Vince Carter. You can argue if you want, but Tmac plays better D and has a more polished all around game. Also, he can get his shot off whenever he wants because he's usually taller than his opponents.I knew he had talent, but what he's been doing out there is ridiculous.

I'm not sure, but I thought I read an interview with Doc Rivers where he said he can be a better Scottie Pippen (on the court, that is) than Pippen was in his best years.

    That isn't saying much, DrofDunk.
I absolutely think that Tracy is better than Carter. He just has all the tools. He scores so easily, and can dunk on the same level as Carter.

Good enough to hurt the Rockets playoff chances by bricking 3 out of 4 free throws in the final minute against the Suns (make all 4 and its tied). [IMG]

I know, I was pissed about that too. I was watching the game and he freakin' bricks 3 out of 4.I really thought Orlando would beat them, but Phoenix was hot tonight.

Tracy McGrady has really impressed me this year. Even seeing him have a good season last year, I'm surprised that he's made that jump to the all-star level so quickly.

He's good enough to end our hot winning streak, that's been proven.

Comparing him to Pippen is just absurd. This year, TMac's been the #1 go-to guy for the Magic. Never in Pippen's wildest dreams could he carry a team to any sort of playoff hopes. However, he did a nice job of riding Jordan's coat tails while in Chicago. Musta been nice.

Absolutely, Toast. T-Mac's a MUCH better shooter and offensive player with comparable defensive, rebounding, and ball-handling/play-making abilities.

If Orlando can find some talented big people with Hill coming back from injury, WHOA!!

OK, I know we all hate Pippen in here, but come on....

Pippen, in his prime, was arguably one of the best all around players on both ends of the floor. Granted, he left all of it on the floor in Chicago (he damn sure didn't bring it to Houston). McGrady has had one all star appearance and everyone wants to proclaim him to be some demigod?

    Pippen had Jordan.

McGrady has... well... a pretty good PG.

I am not getting the logic? Are you saying that MJ made Pippen better, or are you saying that Pippen STILL put up good numbers despite having a 30 ppg scorer on his team?

McGrady has to score like that, otherwise his team would put up miserable offensive numbers.

I guess we will get a true test of McGrady's "greatness" when Hill gets back and healthy.

Dare I say this? McGrady will be better than Kobe... McGrady is a better all-around player than Kobe...

    McGrady is still 21...

One of the best measures of a great player is to make other players better. Look at the players that were pretty good with Jordan, without exception, they all suck now. Its a wonder he can still walk upright after carrying that team.

I agree that an important test will be when Grant Hill recovers from injury, but I'd take McGrady in his prime over Pippen in his prime.

The Rockets will be the NBA champions. Believe.

MJ had defenses geared towards stopping him. Pippen benefitted from that. Jordan was every defense's first priority.

McGrady is that team's initial option on offense (from what I've seen anyway). He still gets his points, rebs, assists, and defensive stops.

Good point about a good measure of McGrady being when Hill comes back. No matter what happens at that time, I still say McGrady in his prime... er... when he reaches his prime... can be better than Pippen was.

As long as McGrady doesn't become a complete ballhog like Kobe appears to be at times, he'll be great.

I think you guy's hatred of Pippen has made you forget how great of a player he used to be.

I hate Pippen as much as the next Rocket's fan, but will not try to convince myself that pippen wasn't at least a good player.

T-Mac might become a better player, but Pip was still a good player back in the Bull's days.

After Michael scores his 30 ppg, who else was gonna score ? Cartwright ? Grant ? Paxson ? Pip had no choice BUT to score. I'll admit I don't like Scottie, but I was kinda disappointed when McDyess headed to Denver. Scottie was definitely a GOOD player, but top 50 or even GREAT player, no way.
