To avoid being killed by the helicopter, stay in that area where the ruger and the heart keep spawning. It's covered by the roof of the boat and it is lower than the rest of the deck, kind of like a fox hole. There are plenty of ways to be ready for the helicopter. If you have a sniper rifle, just try and hit the pilot. If you are using the m-16 or the ruger, aim for the connection between the chopper and the rotor blades. Also, a rocket launcher wouldn't hurt. If you head to the airport, once you pass the 4 way intersection where one of the streets leads to sunshine autos, there is a brown building called the Hooker Motel. If you go behind it, there is a swimming pool with a rocket launcher inside. You could probably knock the helicopter down with one shot.

I got lucky on that stage, I didn't prepare and I ran out of m-16 bullets. For some reason, the Ruger would only reload my shot gun. Basically, I just took care of the french and let Cortez and his men shoot the helicopter down.

I already beat the game, but I did it out of order because I still had to missions to do for that guy Phil Cassidy. When you do his two missions, his place becomes and illegal arms dealing place. You can get the M-60, the mini gun, the rocket launcher, and remote control grenades. I suggest to you that you buy the Malibu club as soon as possible because those missions are where you meet Phil and when you are done, just do his 2 missions. The malibu generates 10000 a day and with the ability to buy Phil's high powered weapons, the rest of the game should be a breeze.

Buy the printworks last because those missions to activate it lead to the end of the game, story wise that is.

How about that mini-gun ? The M-60 is more useful because you can actually aim it, but damn that mini-gun is a fun thing to rampage with. Just go to the Malibu Club and mow everyone down. Damn Village People .

 

I've actually gotten pretty far (I think...). I've finished the Cuban and Hatian missions as well as the phone missions (having a helicopter ROCKS ) but I'm stuck on Cop Land. Getting the cop car into the lockout is bad enough, but then getting out of the mall when the bomb goes off without getting Lance blown away is a pain. The whole friggin world comes down on you, there's no Paint and Spray ANYWHERE, and the FBI Ranchers love running you off the road. I'm thinking about trying a 'copter again, but figuring out the right way to do it will be hard.

 

Has anyone gotten 6 stars yet? How do you get 6 stars anyways? I want a tank sooo bad.

 

Yeah, that mission is a pain in the ass. You have to plan out the entire thing to get away with it. First make sure you park close to the entrance nearest the coffee shop. When you leave the mall, drive the car down to that area on the left that is at a lower level, there is a bribe there. Even though it doesn't solve all of your problems, getting the FBI off your back is really helpful. Usually, there is a parked car nearby in that lower level. Either you grab that car and cross the bridge to the other island where you can take a left before the bridge ends and drive down some steps onto the main road that leads right to the paint n spray, or you drive to the garage on the opposite side of the mall and grab a car and then do the same thing i said about crossing the bridge. If you do it right and go to prawn island, there is a star there behind some buildings that are infront of the porno studio, that will make it even easier.

It's not that hard. The easiest way is to shoot down police helicopters. Just find a place that will provide you with a lot of cover, my favorite is the hooker motel near the airport, and start capping people and police officers. The hooker motel has a rocket launcher in the pool behind it so it can help shoot helicopters down. Two or 3 helicopters plus plenty of dead cops= 6 stars. This is important, don't fear the tanks. They won't try to shoot you and are too slow to run you over. Just walk to the door and wait for the driver to jump out, they always do. Have a sub machine gun or the python revolver ready so that you can auto aim and kill the soldier driving the tank. Get in and go. To lose the cops, if you don't know where all the bribes are, then just drive it to your condo(you should buy this before you entertain the idea of stealing a tank) where there is a garage big enough to hold the tank. Put it in the garage, get out, save the game, and then do whatever. Even if you die, you just reload the saved game and the tank will be there and the stars won't.

 

Thanks Oski, it usually stays at 5 stars for me, so I think it depends on the location. I usually have a shootout near my apartment complex at the northside of town that's near the Amu-Nation...

 

I'm still playing GTA:3. I got the mission where you lose all your weapons and started over last week because I wanted to get all the hidden packages so I could get a Rocket launcher at my pad. Didn't realize I was at the last mission.
