Yah.......maybe we could trade T-Mac for Griffin because the owner is a dirtball sleazebag of a human being.

Eh...I don't think so. Donald Sterling's character, or lack thereof, has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with his basketball operations.

Yes it does. Haven't you noticed how he always keeps young talented players on rookie contracts. Then if they are good enough to demand a big contract, he'll either trade them or let them walk.

That way, he keeps the team entertaining enough to lure the fans, but always bad enough to get high draft picks to get the cycle going again and again.

Sterling has no intention of building a winning team. He is only in for the money.

He does have to save his money for those $500/hr prostitutes. Of course even that is cheap comared to Eliot Spitzer.

No not always. Many of the winning teams are losing money.

Don't insult Spitzer by comparing him to this dirtbag. For all of Spitzer's personal moral shortcomings, he did a lot of great work fighting against the fraud being perpetrated on the public by financial megacorporations and insurance companies before he was ousted. Heck -- who knows, perhaps our financial crisis now wouldn't have been so severe had Spitzer been allowed to continue doing his job in New York back then - he was already on to all of these guys when they decided to take him down.

Yeah, but that doesn't really apply to the post I was replying to. I totally get what you're saying; but that really is unrelated to the sordid personal details in the article.

    what a sleazebag.

I can see why the community and the players themselves on the Clippers do not seem dedicated to give their all for a racist, sexist, slumlord.

Even though Les Alexander always thinks we have the "greatest team of all time," every year, and is frankly, kind of a dork, think about how lucky we are to have him as the Rockets owner.

How miserable would we be if we were stuck with Sterling??

I read a more in-depth article about him on ESPN's website yesterday. Here was one line that had me LOL:

"He's even achieved a kind of Superfriends status among renegade sports owners, befriending the likes of Al Davis and Jerry Reinsdorf, with whom he had lunch at the Super Bowl in 2008."

Being the Simpsons fan that I am, I thought about Database, Lisa, and the other dorks that called themselves "The Superfriends", heh.

Here is the link to the more in-depth story, pretty good reading if you have the time to kill:

true but consider the market they are in

the hornets are losing money but they are in NO which is still recovering from a natural disaster and the city always rallied more around the saints.

If he can get a winning team in LA even with the lakers success there is a lot of money to be had.

a few years back when the clippers were 1 game away from the WCF and were fighting for a playoff spot the following year the clippers did really well selling tickets and all

I think it said the visits were always for one hour.
