Since Bonzi is going to come back

would that mean that Battier is expendable? (or even Bonzi himself even though trading him may lack class)

    now we have

Tmac, Bonzi, Battier, Head, Snyder, (Justin Reed and Novak) at the 2~3 Spot

only 3 can be major contributors, 4 at the Max

Who do you think has the most value in a trade (besides Mac) and who do you want want back?

Try to move a package of Head/Battier/#26 pick in a deal for Camby or something similar.

    Imagine this lineup :

    PG: James/Alston
    SG: Wells/James
    SF: Mac/Wells
    PF: Camby/Hayes
    C: Yao/Camby/Deke

I think it makes Snyder and especially Luther Head much more expendable. I also think if Spanoulis comes back that it makes Alston expendable, although that seems to be in stark contrast with majority opinion here.

It also makes Battier more expendable if he could net a PF.

You think they are comfortable RELYING on Bonzi and ship off Battier 1)after the crap he pull last year 2) given he's a one year rental?

    Luther+Sura+#26 for Haslem?

Does that work? God, I hope the Rockets pursue something like that.

head and snyder are easily tradable.

why is battier expendable because of bonzi?

    bonzi is a clear 2, battier a clear 3.

Snyder's an expiring contract. He might be attractive to team interested in his bird right's and potential. IMO he's heading towards being another Keith Bogans level player.

Package Snyder + Sura and that can snare a player up to the 7M range.

It makes Head, Snyder, and Novak easier to part with. In no way should it change Battier's status. I pray Rockets management doesn't bring up his name in trade talks as much as this BBS.

Almost any scenario involving Battier sets us back. If the move is lateral then technically it sets us back. Think about it...

It doesn't make him expendable like Head or Snyder. But it makes it easier to part with him. Obviously McGrady is really a SF.

tmac can man the three, infact I think since he cant get pass SGs these days, he might fare better against slower SFs

OBviously I would ONLY trade Battier if we get someone like Wilcox or something, ie someone that good

true, i guess, but i don't like the thought of trading battier enless we get an obvious upgrade in return.

I agree unless it was possible to package him with say Head and the 26 pick for s good starting PF. Of course that's probably not remotely possible. I think Adelman will go with McGrady and Wells at SG and Battier and Novak at SF. That's damn good.

    i agree.

i don't know why supposedly morey is against this.

artest would make this team a championship contender assuming we don't give up the big 3 (yao/t-mac/battier).

Hopefully in a package to get a starting power forward or backup center.
