How does this work. Here are the current records and seeds in our conference.

    1. Minnesota 57 - 24
    2. Sacramento 55 - 26
    3. San Antonio 56 - 25
    4. LA Lakers 55 - 26

    5. Dallas 51 - 30
    6. Memphis 50 - 31
    7. Houston 45 - 36
    8. Denver 43 - 38

Shouldn't SA be in 2nd? And LA and SAC tied for third? Do the tie breakers come into play here? I was just curious. I really really do not want to play SAC in the 1st round so I guess I am looking for hope that there is still a chance we won't

I was wondering the same thing, Detroit has a 54-28 record, but they are still 3rd seed in the east behind New Jersey who has a 47-34 record.

The Division winners get the first two seeds.

...but home court is given based on record so even if you are a higher seed, you may lose home court.

Higher seed has nothing to do with homecourt but ONLY in the 1st round. After 1st round, then homecourt is determined by record. Just look at the seeding as positioning of the team...who match up with who ..ect!!!
