I took MetroRail to a Texans game once. I parked downtown and went to one of the train platforms. There's a machine on the platform where you can put in the fare and it will spit out a ticket.

A little word of warning about after the game. It's going to be a loooong line to get back on the train. If you have ever seen how the Japanese are squeezed onto their trains, you'll know what you are in for. I suggest just chilling out for an hour after the game before trying to get on the train.

You pay right when you get on the bus. It's a dollar (although it might have just increased to like $1.25). Ask for a transfer from the driver so you can use it on the metro rail

I'm not sure if they still do that. I hadn't ridden it for a while, but started up in the summer and was surprised to find out that they didn't even give you bus transfers anymore. It's $1 no matter what line you step onto. Also, I think that they now treat METRORail as a separate entity, so you're forced to pay to get onto it as well, although I'm not sure how many people do.

Why don't people READ or just go to the authority web site anymore...?

http://www.ridemetro.org/FareInfo/Default.aspx All fare information. There are no more transfers, unless you use the Q-Card.

You must pay $1.25 for the first trip inbound from Briar Forest into Downtown, then you must pay $1.25 to get on the Rail from Downtown to Reliant Stadium. As a word of advice, start 30 minutes earlier than what the Metro computer program says.

LOL... Abba... :D ♪ Chiquitita dime por qué... ♫

Go get a Q Card and you can get free transfers. Otherwise, you have to pay each time you get on a bus. You can get a Q Card for free at any of these locations:

    https://www.ridemetro.org/FareInfo/QRetailer.aspx

Just put $10 on it and that should cover you for the day.

Do you still get a day pass (24 hrs) for $2? That was my only means of transport through college ('97 - '02).
