How do you know you are a Baller? You spend 6.8 Million on a damn license plate!

It's the UAE...these are the same people that are building man-made islands the size of Harris county; I think this pales in comparison, but largely reflective of the 'lifestyle'/mentality in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Don't some of these people feel bad for spending that much on such a useless crap? I mean some people are starving here.. like me..

 

I'm convinced people that waste large amounts of money will pay for the error of their ways one day.......and I'm not even being funny.....how could you sleep at night knowing you spent 6 million dollars on a license plate?!?!?........there is a hell that awaits people like that........

 

Well the money raised is going to charity of car accident victims. But yeah spending millions on a license plate is just.....

yea it is stupid, but the report did say that a percentage of the money goes to charity, so its not all bad.

 

didn't read about the charity part.....i wonder how much is a percentage????.......either way there are still plenty of wealthy people who spend money on some of the most ridiculous things.......this is still insane....

Shiyaat, I ain't gonna lie. I'm obviously jealous. If I had that much money, I'd probably buy a few stoopid things as well.

 

hopefully a percentage to charity means 99.99%, to bring the actual cost toward the license play to ONLY around $6000.

 

It's nice that some of the money goes to victims of traffic accidents, but I don't think that's why this guy spent such an extravagant amount. It's a status symbol and an ego booster. "Hey, look at me. My license plate number is 5. I'm better than you are."

 

Man, some Arabs have more money than they know what to do with.

 

nothing is wrong with spending money, and I certainly can't tell anyone how to spend it, but a license plate that cost 6 million dollars falls under the "ridiculous" category for me........there's a difference in living comfortably/wanting nice things and just being a jackass.......what is the use of a license plate that costs 6 million dollars?!?!????........how bout instead of donating a percentage of that money to charity, instead use it to buy houses for impoverished families, or put some kids through school........that's just a "waste" of money, and I'm convinced that people like that will pay someday.....

 

There’s art work, records, baseballs, antique’s etc. that rich folks like to buy, let’s not condemn people to hell for collecting this stuff. How do you know what % of his wealth is spent on charity. I think that'd be an important question before sending him to hell .

I think almost all rich people spend money on unnecessary things….....hell also on the necessary things in life, is it worth it to buy a mansion of 24,000sq/ft for a family of four? .....But most rich people do (relative to their wealth of course), and I think most of you condemning the guy to hell would too, if you had the money. But you don’t, so hate on.

 

I assume several of these people are wealthy due to being in the extended royal family/peerage; which may make the money seem like a kind of "birthright," and make the individuals feel less guilty about obscene spending.

And that wealth is presumably tied to the oil resources, so maybe they don't see the cash as the finite resource that other people, even "self-made" or the inherited rich, would.

If I'm generalizing about upper-class Dubaians(?), then I apologize.

 

Especially since it will expire in a year, doy!
