With all the new jackson rumblings, i thought i would get some perspective on how time has changed or not changed Rockets fan's perception of Phil. I for one still don't like the guy but think he was a good manager of personalities.

*EDIT: Last poll option shoulda been 'Over rated; ...'

Well, since it isn't an option, I will answer.

He has 11 rings...albeit with great players. Looking at how the Lakers were playing without Phil before he arrived, he helped get them over the hump.

So I would state that he is an all time great when it comes to managing great players and getting them to buy into a single philosophy.

No clue how he would do with a lottery type team as that hasn't really been his M.O.

And I have been a Rockets fan since 1986...so your options don't apply to me regardless ;)

    Mastermind, Rockets fan since 92

You can say all you want about the star power he has had. 11 titles, with 3 different players as lead dog. Knows how to get the best out of guys.

Like any coach he needs talent to win, but not everybody can win it all with talent, and he won it all, constantly.
