Well, i was a mcgrady fan and a rocket fan so for t-mac to come to houston was like a dream come true. he is quote Morey "the best passing Guard/Forward in this league, and he still is, as much as i like king james, i think the passes mcgrady makes are actually better. anyways this is not a thread comparing T-mac and James.

TMac's worth more than we can get for him in return. That's how I feel about him.

I am still pleased with him. I wish he dunked more and had more of the killer instinct he used to. I hope after his deal is up he resigns with us for much less. Maybe 9 mil a year for 3 years. But I bet he can get more and will leave.

the trade got us out of the mobley/francis era which was much like a drought for the rockets. and even though tmac still hasnt gotten us out of the first round, hes still my favorite player

I felt great about him coming over but very sad to see Francis go, however, I loved the future of the franchise.

Now I still feel good at having Tracy out there, I still have hope for the Yao/T-Mac foundation. I feel like we have taken far too long to get the right players around them but are now finally doing what we should have started doing 2 years ago.

Had we gotten Scola/Landry just 2-3 years ago along with Battier (or players of similar impact) this team would have certainly bypassed the 1st round already.

I guarantee, the roster as it currently stands can bypass the 1st round if healthy. I would feel they have a good shot at the championship with a reliable 3rd scorer, its horrible seeing how this team drops in quality when both T-Mac and Yao are not at the top of their game.

i was a little iffy about the trade when it was made. who wouldnt want tmac but for 2 starters who averaged about 20 points apiece? honestly im still 50-50 on it. were still the same team that hasnt gotten out of the first round as we were with franchise and cat

I was ecstatic about the trade, but I have soured on TMac. His approach to the game is far too casual. He seems like he is pushing forty, the oldest twenty something year old in the league. I suspect he has some mental issues, but what they are is not clear. His jordanesque skills are rapidly declining. He shoots like he still shoots well and he doesn't. He and Yao have never seemed to really click, the Kobe/Shaq comparison has never seemed even remotely appropriate. I would move him for two or three semi-star players while he still has "superstar" status. That will be over soon. The rumored Detroit proposals have merit. I know, nobody agrees with me.

It was a complete steal, Francis was good, but during crunch time, he would make boneheaded decisions. I been watching since he was playing for Orlando, and he is my favorite player, and not because he plays for Houston.

Now, I am little sad because he is still unsuccessful in the playoffs plus I think his time is almost up with Houston.

No, I agree. But Adleman's system is the wild card here and I don't think TMac really got it last year. I don't see TMac's game as limited as he thinks it is and he's got to stop pounding the ball.

From where Les & Morey sit it's probably more about "fit" than anything. Last year was pretty crazy and a wait-and-see approach makes sense to me.

I still think Tracy is amazing and underated...mostly by the city of Houston.

Hell it was one of the bets decisions, people here undervalue Tmac he is a pure superstar even though he hasnt got past the first round. like Drexler said its a team sport and the whole team doesnt get past the first round not just Tmac
Tmac is just amazing and you can't find many players better than him

Glad to see you two are hitting it off. T-Mac didn't get it? I guess that explains why he didn't lead the team in both points and assists. Damn, if he'd gotten just one triple double....but all he does is dribble.

Ummm...we made one of the best trades ever.

Hell, Steve is on the team again and at 1/20th of the price. At this point, it was basically Cato and Cat for TMac

    :D

I feel the same way about the deal that I did when we traded for Barkely...If I had to do the Barkley deal all over again I would do it. It was probably the best deal we could get at the time to win. Likewise, I couldn't see us getting a better offer for Francis and Mobley than TMac and there was certainly no way of getting out of the first round with the Francis/Mobley duo.

It's highly unlikely that we will get equal or higher value for tmac so the best thing to do is put together the best supporting cast that we can till 2010 and let the Yao/TMac duo play out.
