Have a long flight coming up and I can't figure out how to download Sopranos on my phone. Not trying to download for free. I can purchase from Amazon or Android Market. But you still have to have wifi connection and it doesn't actually download the episodes on your phone. :(

I think that's what tablets and PSPs were invented for.

There is a similar service called "Vudu" that actually downloads on your phone. You can get the app from Android market. They give you a couple of free movies when you sign up so you can give it a try.

Keep in mind, though, that if you don't have Wifi at all, when you download the episodes they are going to tear through your data plan. I wouldn't make a habit of downloading movies onto your phone without a wifi connection, or an unlimited data plan.

It also can get kind of expensive. But if you are somewhere isolated, like on a plane, the only other option that I know of is actual physical DVD's. The good news is that the quality is damn good.

The Pirate Bay is suffering some downtime in parts of the U.S. The TPB crew says that the issues are beyond their control but they're confident that the world's largest torrent index will come back online eventually.

tpb-logoMany U.S. Internet subscribers across various ISPs are experiencing trouble accessing The Pirate Bay at the moment."

I have an iphone and just recently installed google play. There is an option to download tv and movies for offline viewing. I'm sure there are others out there, but this works great. And if it works on an iphone it will work on android phones.

What airline are you flying? Most these days have personal video screens and a bunch of on-demand shows...

Shows and movies you purchase can be cached if from Google play store or Amazon on supported devices.

I use Linux and a rooted Android phone and copy and paste the files and use VLC to play 'em.
