A request to the many on this bbs on how to disable text and/or picture copy in the ebay auctions.

I just need something simple that would ward off someone too lazy to spend 2 minutes to type in their own descriptions.

    Pictures too, but not necessary.

    Many Thanks,

If you put anything out on the Interwebs, it's COPY-able. :p

Trust me. Some 12-year-old kid in Peoria, ANYSTATE has already written code to steal YOUR code.

My pictures have water marks on them. Some people copy and crop the water mark out. Others use the picture as is w/ my water mark on it. I'm not as worried about the picture as I am about the text. I can always prove the picture is mine.

I know anything can be copied if the copier is motivated, even retyping or print screen and recrop.

I just want to prevent the 98% that wouldn't want to spend time to retype.

I don't want to disable the right click if possible. I just want to disable copy. When they select, CTRL+C or click copy, nothing is copied.

To a point, but not if they use my picture/description, then undercut me.

I understand. The only thing you can do is make it hard on them since you don't control the page. One way to make it harder to copy is to make your picture and customized text (with your user name, etc) into 1 image. Only post the image. Someone would have to have decent software and a little bit of talent to properly convert that to a new image that would suit their needs. They'd probably just do their best at recreating the screen from scratch.
