i know other have asked this before but i can't search for some reason... i am moving into a place that will not allow me to get NBA league pass. how else do i get all of the rockets games? what's the cheapest way? thanks in advance for any help.
There are two ways really, a) various chinese p2p programs that broadcast the game "live" (its about 4-5 behind). the quality isnt too bad but sometimes you can miss something if the video all of the sudden starts to buffer. also i am not a huge fan of the chinese commentators, not because i dont understand what they are saying but they dont speak as upbeat or emotional as other pbp people. Contrasting it with the games i seen in spanish i would prefer to watch a game in spanish than chinese. but usually i mute the audio anyway but its a good way and its as live as you can get. the buffering problem is the main issue i think there hasnt been a game yet where I havent had to rebuffer b)if you can wait for the game Rockets2K usually has the game from the local houston feed (or national if its an exclusive game) on a bittorrent link a day or two after the actual game. He also edits the game file and makes a "highlight clip" of all the made rocket baskets and goodies. Of the two I prefer R2k's version I can usually wait to see the game because I like the fact I can pause rewind replay the game. The quality is also a bit better too (depends on the feed) there you go there are probably some other chinese bt groups or bball groups that may do games and put them out via bittorrent but if you need just rocket games check here when the season starts
i go to college in NY, so i have the same problem...but what i do is i bought a Slingmedia slingbox and connected it to my satellite at home (in houston) and i can than watch the games on my laptop in NY, but i dont know if you have access to a satellite or cable box in houstn....but thats all i cna think off other than the other suggestions....goodluck
You can catch league pass games on broadband online if you have league pass. Maybe offer a friend to split the cost? Like if he lives in Houston, have him order league pass and give you the password to watch online. http://www.nba.com/broadband/league_pass.jsp
Make "friends" with someone from CF.net that lives in the Houston area and is willing to hookup a slingbox or stream the games through http://www.orb.com . I should have the audio streaming during the games, and will try to stream the vids too. (but the number of people i can share it with will be limited because of my bandwidth). Not sure if I"m going to do this though. if I do, it'll be strictly a random drawing of who gets the feed etc.
i used to have direct TV but couldnt watch rox games....now i switched to Dish Network. Hopefully i will be able to watch rox games
I'm moving to Barcelona Spain next month. Missing Rockets games is probably my biggest fear. Ha. I know how you guys feel.
Clutch, setup up another TipJar for "donations" to R2K to help those unfortunate souls who cannot watch our Houston Rockets because they aren't in Houston. Just a suggestion.
Im thinking of doing the same thing. I live out of the states and well i have no option of seeing any NBA games. Is it worth getting? does it actually look like youre watching live TV?
This is how I watched the games last season besides national tv, almost all Rockets games were broadcasted live, commentators were always Bill, Drexler or Calvin. The catch is, you have to pay around $15 for 3 months. Visit www.streamtvnow.com
you think you guys have it bad try living in Australia. We get one game a week on espn, sometimes 2, and last year the rockets werent one once. We alos cant get league pass here. the best things for me is TVUPlayer which has cctv-5 and some other good ones, TVAnts which has nbatv n also some others and also PPlive Net Tv which is proabbly the best one and has a channel just for the rockets aswell as other basketball channels.
Ive been offered before and declined. I have no need of financial recompense for what I do. besides, Im of the opinion that the NBA wont mess with us as long as no one is profiting from their product, which I would be if people gave me money for capturing and releasing the games. Between the online streaming thingies and my torrent releases, there really is no excuse for not watching all Rockets games if you are really a hardcore fan...no matter where you are.
I have the same problem here living in Mexico, here we didnt get the all star weekend, neither the finals. And I have another problem im in school from the 4-9:30 in the night, so I cant see a lot games, because I get to my home till 10.
