How did we go from championship contenders to bottom of the barrel?

Don't tell me injuries. You could see this team's deficiencies in the first two games of the season.

What the hell happened man? Quickest implosion of a franchise I've seen in recent time. Rockets gutted their superstars and still remained competitive after the Yao-Tmac era. Texans haven't lost much and they look like complete **** out there.

It was only a matter of time before incompetent coaching and quarterback play caught up to the Texans. Throw in injuries, and it's really not all that surprising.

Well...it's not surprising we regressed a good amount. I didn't expect to be one of the worst in the league.

If we didn't win those first two games...
We might honestly have been the second team to go 0-16 in the NFL.

I wouldn't be that surprised if we regressed. I'm surprised how we go from top tier team to pretty much the worst team in the league.

Incompetent regime from coaches to front office. This team is actually talent deficient in the most important areas, the o-line and d-line, other than Watt. That coupled with injuries to the other few talented players we have (Foster, Cushing, Manning, etc.) and that pretty much spells disaster. Coming into this season I didn't feel this team was a contender, but the biggest haters couldn't think this team would be this damn bad. They are currently a joke right now.

The players are quitting on the coaches - or at least on Kubiak.

It's simple, the Texans were never as good as their record. They lucked into acquiring a massively talented RB, and he turned them into Fool's Gold. The the OL went to crap, our star RB became mortal, and our QB went from mediocre to a pick six factory. The Texans have been exposed. Kubiak has been exposed.

Because we were never real championship contenders like we thought. So not as big a fall as you think.

People were calling for Kubiak's head 3 years ago.

5 years ago. It was apparent from the start that he was not good at two critical components of coaching:

    1. Being able to adapt, as in, playing the chess match of half to half mind games against the opposing coach.

    2. Hiring or playing the most competent men. His degree of favoritism and nepotism is so disgusting that I hope all trace of his stink leaves with him out the door. David Gibbs. Richard Smith. Frank Bush. Rick Dennison. Joe Marciano. Bob McNair had to save him from himself by hiring Wade Phillips. Kubiak had no say in that matter.

And then the players. Some take all the crap, and some get all the benefit of doubt in the world. There's no accountability. There's a double standard for his favorite guys like Schaub, like Kevin Walter. It's demoralizing for players, knowing that the best guys aren't necessarily out there on the field. It's like an office where the brown noses get promotions. The morale of the entire company suffers.

Because bad kickers are an added incentive for teams in the NFL?

Package, cut, waive, as long as he never kicks for this team again I'll be satisfied.

One play. Schaub's bunny pick 6 to Sherman just ripped the heart out of the players. Never recovered after that. Glad to get a new starting QB next season.

That's how I see it. Also if they win that game I believe they win some of these other close games and are 5-5 right now. And actually play with some heart today and remain in the wild card hunt.
