Jason Collier sucks and it is too bad that Oscar had to go to open a roster spot for this sad excuse of a basketball player!!!

We have 4 or 5 guys that can play center on this team without him. No one can make me believe that he is going to change enough to make anything but a practice squad. And we gave up Oscar? And he showed potential with 28 points!

    2 words.

    Guaranteed contract.

I can all but guarantee (there's that word again) you that he won't be a Rocket next year (thank God).

Well, for what it's worth, I'm glad that Collier's playing with something to prove (it is a contract year if the Rockets don't pick up the option) and I'm glad he wasn't waived simply because despite the 'logjam' at PF, only Eddie is available for the opener. At least we have Collier to spell Eddie that game, and if he plays well enough the first few games to warrant minutes, then all the better.

I, too, am sorry Oscar is no longer with the team. I wish him well at GS, and hope he continues to stay in the league.

1.We have Yao who hasen't been tested yet.
    2. Griffin is our best back-up center, but needs to add a little bulk to hold his own in the paint.
    3. Cato Sucks!!
    4. see Collier

Get real, he's a third string center! You Collier haters are ridiculous. We have basically added 2 #1 pick's to a team that missed the playoffs by a half a game 2 years ago. This is the most exciting team we have had in a long time and you guy's want to b!tch about the third team center.  I think you all will be surprised by how well Collier will play and fit this team if we run the "motion" offense as much as we should this year. :p

Seems that Jason has improved this year, one of the surprizes early on,,,,As a 1st round pick ..Hes a bust. But so were the other players pickeded after him. The strategy worked ....Who would you rather have..Eddie Griffin and Jason Collier ..or..Joel Prisbilla?

the only thing preventing Collier from some contribution in the past has been injuries. He has had a good camp this year and we have seen some flashes of his game. The book on him has been simple. He will not hurt you and his is a 7 footer, which is rare! He can come in for low end minutes off the bench and rebound and shoot with nice range and a nice hook shot. He is someone you have on the end of your bench because he is 7'0" and can shoot and run the floor. There is a place for guys like Montross, Knight and Collier believe it or not

Huh, JC worthless? He'll be playing in The League' for 15 years, and always 'servicable'.

Torres? Brown? Too bad about both of them, I like them both, but servicable 7 footers? I'll take the big 'ok' guy over an 'ok' little guy anyday!

He will have to play some tonight probably. We will see if he's worth a damn... Who else do we have at the 4?

We didn't have to use the #15 pick we got from the Bucks on Collier. We could have selected: Turkoglu, Mason, Richardson, Magloire, Claxton, Peterson, Harvey, Stevenson, Tsakalidis, Madsen, or even Micheal Redd. You take any 5 fans out of any NBA arena and 5 out of 5 fans will either tell you any of those players is lightyears better than Collier as a player - or they will just ask "Who the F**k is Jason Collier??"

And this business that we got Eddie Griffin because of Collier is utter bullsh!t. Collier got us the #23 pick. New Jersey made that deal because of the #13 and #18 we were giving them. The #23 was in all likelihood NOT a deal breaker and we could have likely offered them some other asset in lieu of it if the Bucks trade had never been made.

Collier does not belong in the NBA regardless of whether he is still under contract. I wish the front office would have cut their losses and moved on by just waiving him and retaining a player who could actually help the team in some way, shape, or form.

Hindsight is 20/20. Quick name three other third string centers that are better than all these players you have named!

You're right, why don't we have all-stars at every position.

You make absolutely no point, other than a bunch of rolleyes. Collier was not drafted with the 15th pick to be a 3rd stringer, but a 2nd stringer. At this point he's not even good enough to be a 4th stringer. We should have kept Goodrich. Also, we don't need all-stars at every position, just legit NBA players or players that at least have a chance of one day becoming serviceable NBA players. Oh ya, and......
