JAGGER ROCKS BUSH, RICE: 'HOW COME YOU'RE SO WRONG, MY SWEET NEO-CON'

"You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite/ You call yourself a patriot. Well, I think your are full of sh*t!... How come you're so wrong, my sweet neo-con."

Ready to drop in the coming weeks, a new Bush-bashing tune from the ROLLING STONES: "Sweet Neo Con."

"It is direct," Mick Jagger says with a laugh to fresh editions of NEWSWEEK.

"Keith [Richards] said, 'It's not really metaphorical.' I think he's a bit worried because he lives in the U.S." Jagger explains. "But I don't."

The full lyric also mocks National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice.

News about the song surfaced a few weeks ago with many expecting that it would not make the finally cut on the new CD, A BIGGER BANG.

Jagger once vowed not to comment on the political process in the United States.

"I feel very much at home in America. I've spent half my adult life here. I have many personal feelings. But I'm from the school that considers it impolite to comment on other people's elections. Now if I had the vote - and I should have, as I pay so much in taxes - I would have a lot to say."

Now with the elections long over, the tongue is unleashed!

The band kicks off its world tour in Boston on Aug. 21.

    Developing...

I wonder if Mick will send some free tickets to the Dixie Chicks.

Yup, and I stand by that. Walter Winchell wasn't a newsman, and Matt Drudge isn't a newsman. I do occasionally surf Drudge's website for laughs, and when I saw this article (which came from Newsweek) I decided to post a link to it.

The thing I cannot stand about Drudge is when he posts a story with nothing backing it up (not even a link) and then puts the words DEVELOPING at the end. Reminds me of T_J and CASE CLOSED.

    Questions?

I saw a commercial for an insurance company that had the Stones in it. They used to be gods of Rock, but now they just look old and creepy. Once you get to retirement age it is time to stop acting like a teenager.

Drudge is not a newsman but his website isn't like newsmax or some GOP propaganda machine. It does seems like he's definitely a conservative.

I was actually listening to his radio show when some reporter called in about Christopher Reeve's death. I was a big fan of the Superman movies and don't mean to make light of his tragedy. It was funny, though, how Drudge was updating his site in "realtime" while broadcasting. When I got home 20 seconds later, the site was already updated. I think he actually knows some HTML.

Does he bring a finality to every story that ends with "developing ..."?

That's right. The Stones have forgotten who is running the British Empire, George W.

Young people are really in for a shock. You feel like exactly the the same person in your head. Your creepy old body may change but you don't.

Do you think that if the Stones song comes out, Clear Channel, with a near monopoly on radio stations in the US, will allow it on the radio?

It is very insidious the way they keep any anti-war music including big top 40 songs from the past off the air.

    An oldie"

"It is hard to love a man whose legs are bent and paralyzed. OH Maggie, don't take your love to town".

A good top 40 song, which Clear Channel will never play. There are others.

Come to think of it, I haven't hear that song "War" in a long time on classic rock stations.
