Serious question, when's a last time a 20 ppg scorer with 43% FG, 38% 3pts, 5 Ast a game on a winning team get as little props as Aaron Brooks?
dont worry he will win the most improved player of the year award this year, but when yao comes back, do not expect to see brooks still scoring 20+ points and takin 20+ shots
hes too quiet and not flashy enough. It's been that way in the nba and probably always will. It's why tmac is still voted to the all-star game and AI as well. Brooks wouldnt make money or get viewers outside of here.
"Brooks is an All-Star," Randolph said. "He killed us. He doesn't surprise me, what he does on the court. He was pulling up and hitting 3s once he was crossing mid-court."
In case you didn't get the memo... AB is a ROCKET.. So no one cares. He is probably overachieving anyway! No need to waste the ink or the bandwidth.
It's hard not to recognize all star talent when the guy puts up 31 points on 14 shots AND fouls out the guy that was guarding him in the process. That is domination, the likes of which I haven't seen from a Rockets guard in years.

Ehem. 44% FG and 39%3pt... And probably the answer is because the Rockets have not been on National TV. DD
I know its not why but the reason I dont think hes an all-star is because his offensive rating is still below league average.
"huh? Houston? Brooks? is that like in Canada?" That's what the national media is thinking. I think Brooks' name will be mentioned more often once we're deep in the playoffs starting next season. I'm sure scouts all over the NBA already have pages on Brooks.
Im sure he'll get more hype if we keep winning, we've been struggling ever since the fast start to the season.
He may get the MIP (prayers are needed) but the reason no one outside of fantasy league owners know or care about Brooks is because the NBA has its stars and while he is good, he hasn't reached a level high enough for them to be forced to take notice. Although really, it takes 3-4 years for most players to rise to prominence as media darlings outside of top picks that are natural superstars. Given time and consistent performances, Brooks will get his due.
