Foreign players aren't allowed to dunk in the NBA, it's a rule.

Actually that perplexes me too, Luther doesn't, nobody but Landry does. It's weird.

Scola is not highflyer and he's not a dunker. Ho's not gonna dunk it often which is pretty bad when he has for example sgoot around the rim. Layups may be blocked.

Maybe he has lost some of his athleticism as he gets older. Maybe dunking just take too much out of his knee, and he's trying to preserve himself.

I remember one possession in which he tried to dunk but couldn't get up there enough.

he probably tried a few times in practice and just got rejected by yao and/or mutumbo and thought better of it. plus that one dunk (2nd youtube video) he lands awkward as hell. id feel uneasy watching him do that night in night out.

I thought someone pointed out before that the European goals are shorter than the NBA goals.

Makes sense, since he dunked with two hands and barely got above the rim the couple of times he's dunked in the NBA.

Every time he has the chance to dunk but doesn't, he can save his energy to get one more RB or a STL, that's the same 2 points with an extra possession.

Gotta agree with this. He is 27 but has played a lot of basketball. We also don't know how is knees, ankles and whatever else on him has some wear and tear that has sapped him of some explosiveness.

I'm pretty sure both rims are measured at 10 feet, or else I don't see how there can even be international competitions.

Maybe .. maybe he thinks he's still a rookie and should not dunk too much to
upset anyone in NBA .. I have a feeling he'll dunk more in the future

Exactly. The NBA plays the best defense of all the leagues in the world.

He doesn't dunk because it's a more injury-prone move if there are people clogging the lane up. He's got a family to feed now and will have to make sure he stays healthy until his current 3yr contract finishes up. At that point he can then sign a new one that pays him in Euros, and then he won't have to worry about injuries.

Silly Americans and their fake money. Thank Bush.

Those euos doent dunk alot. maybe its culyural, but alot dont finish strong at the rim. Thats why manu is different. He goes and finishes at the rim strong. its just a different habit.
