Like in MLB? Instead of wasting fuel/gas traveling from city to city each game?

If NBA teams played 162 games instead of 82, they probably would.

As it stands now, each team has several two-game series. Most of the time, these have one day in between.

I don't think they play the same team enough times in one location to warrant this. They may play warriors 3 times, two at home and one away. The number of games would need to double in order for this to make sense. Seeing Steph Curry 3X in a row vs spread out twice throughout the year would def negatively impact attendance. Many MLB teams are only at 60% capacity, top teams close to 75%-80%, NBA teams on the other hand are at 98% capacity, they would take a significant hit.

Warriors are about to sweep the Pels in a two-game series at the Chase Center.

I should have led with this, but the Rockets host the Clippers in a two-game series next Wednesday and Friday and the following week have a literal back-to-back at home against the Blazers.
