I know this thread was started before, but I can't find it. I'm in Chicago for college, and my dorm sucks. It's so old that comcast won't install cable because they're not sure how to wire this building. Is there any other way I can watch Rockets games?
you have to have access to a tv with the proper channels to use that sling thingy. that wont work unless you know someone who will let you hoop up to their tv.
Are they still going to broadcast games on CCTV5 this year? And do they come on live, or tape delayed? Because I'm probably gonna need pplive to come through for me a little this year.
i live in Sydney Australia and get 1-2 games on espn a week but there rarely rockets games so i use 4 programs that all offer different channels and are all good. i use PPlive, PPstream TvAnts and TVU player...try em out.
The problem with NBA league pass broadband via NBA.com is that you have to be a satellite or digital cable subscriber. They don't allow you access to broadband league pass without it. If you're looking to watch rockets games but aren't opposed to paying for them, you can purchase games at video.google.com. They have an NBA section. Unfortunately the games aren't live, you'll have to wait around 12 hours for the games to be uploaded. Otherwise you can download the games via torrent when a nice poster provides torrent files to those games.
streamtvnow.tv or streamtvnow.com it looks like they are down at this time but I watched almost every game last season for 4 bucks a month thats if you have highspeed net
Probably. They don't put every single Rockets game on, though. If the game is an afternoon game chances are it won't be shown at all, if shown it will be tape-delayed, since it isn't profitable to put the NBA on at 3 AM. I don't think they have many weekend games, either.
Chinese TV as a whole (not just CCTV5) was pretty good about showing games last year, before the season went into the toilet. I remember in the first month they had 13 of the first 15 regular season games live. They didn't start bumping games until Yao went down, and even then, they'd get more than I expected (about 2 out of every 3 games) for such a crummy season.
Yeah if you have high speed and someone who'll host a Slingbox for you back in Houston, there's no other way you'd want to go.
What's your internet connection? If, for some reason, you're stuck with dial up, then I don't think any of the internet technologies for watching games would be feasible.
exactly without broadband watching/getting games will take forever. even the 700M torrents would take a day+ to get over dialup
If someone get the league pass, can he let someone else watch online via NBA website 1000 miles away? If so, any league pass subsciber interested in helping me out, for a little $?
For some reason I can't watch any of the Rockets games on pplive, I opened the window and clicked OK but nothing happened. Anybody know what's happening?
I heard somewhere that they banned foreign (non-China) IPs for the CCTV-5 stream. Whatever the reason is, it doesn't work for me either. Try TVAnts, TVKoo, PPStream, or TVUNetworks. All of those have CCTV-5.
can someone describe to me how does the NBA league pass on internet works? is it live? i had time-warner cable + its internet service, is that fast enough to stream without lagging? how is the quality of the video? can i watch the games boardcast by TNT, ESPN, ABC on internet too? any other problems when you are watching it on the internet?
Get DirecTV and get the league pass. Fork over the $160 bucks or whatever it is. It will be the best money you spend and probably cheaper than you would spend going to one Bulls game!
