I think this would be an awesome lineup to go with next season...
    pg-francis/norris
    sg-mobley/torres
    sf-griffin/rice/williams
    pf-taylor/thomas
    c-cato/collier

If we could snatch up either marc jackson, sign a free agent center, or draft a center I think, barring any more fricking injuries, we would be a lock for the playoffs. Without Francis, Taylor, Rice and Thomas our bench has matured and has learned how to play competitively without their star. Considering the West is now even with the East, it will no longer be hard for us to get into the playoffs, as long as we play .500 ball next year. However, I don't really see us making the playoffs this year, unless we reverse the losing streak into a winning streak.

We should have a good draft pick as well...

i don't think the wizard will be with us by the time MoTay gets back..We can pick up some lower free agent to take his place

    PG Francis
    SG Mobley
    SF Rice
    PF Taylor
    C Griffin

    Bench:
    Norris
    Torres
    Morris
    Cato

That should be the lineup. It won't be, though.

    How about:

    Cato
    Griffin
    Morris
    Mobley
    Francis

    bench:
    Taylor
    Thomas
    Torres
    Norris
    Punk ass Rice
    Collier
    Brown

I hope Griffin takes over at the 4 and Morris at the 3 to get us better athleticism at the positions we get killed at.

I have been saying Griffin is the "real deal" since he was drafted. Check my old posts (Yeah Sure!). Anyway, as to lineups with the players we presently have under contract, check this out:
    Griffin- Center
    Taylor- Power Forward
Torres- Small Forward (How soon you forget!)
And of course, Francis and Mobley
Now this is a team with potential, if Francis can stay sober, and Mobley can get on tranquilizers.

Rice, Cato, Norris, etc. are back-ups; although, I would never have signed any of them, check my old posts!

I would like to see Mooch, Cato and Rice traded...but with the same team, here's what I would like to see:

    C: Griffin/Cato
    PF: Taylor/Thomas
SF: Rice/Torres/TMo/Draft Pick (To split time with Torres or possibly start at SF when Rice's contract expires)
    SG: Mobley/Torres
    PG: Francis/Norris

    IR: Brown/Langhi/Collier

I would like to see Torres and Thomas getting large minutes off the bench, both playing multiple positions. (SF and SG for Torres and PF, SF and occasionally C for KT)

Why does anyone think taylor will come back better? I think he will come back worse and thats not a good sign considering he was avg at full stregnth. We need Griffin to be our 4 man and Thomas the bench man. griffin at center is not really cool even if he gained weight, he would be better at the 4 spot. Taylor is pretty much done and thats not being negative, but it takes at least 2yrs to come back from a achilles injury. It robs you of explosiveness and quickness, so i don't see why anyone would think he'll come back like the million dollar man.

What makes you think that its two years when the experts said that Taylor should be back next year at full strength? By the way, he was not average, he was our third scorer and our clutch player down the stretch.

Dane B, when was Taylor clutch last yr? He played pretty good early in the game, but seeeing his minutes because of foul trouble , he was on the bench or just in foul trouble. As far as the injury, check the records and see how guys performed after that kind of injury. It took Dominique 2 yrs and so did he's brother to get back at strength. Do you remember how Dan Marino looked after the injury and he was going to use nearly the change of direction a basketball player will use. Isiah retired because of the achilles late in his career. Its a serious injury even with modern medicine. It kills the little explosiveness that Taylor did have and I don't see why anyone would think that he'll come back equal to what he was even in the first yr.
