No, I'm not being serious, but since he scored 12 points tonight, I figured I'd be the first to jump off Langhi's bandwagon from the last game and onto Big Jason's. You know, trendsetting...

I think Rudy hasn't given him a fair chance. And he need to be in a different system. And our guards are stupid. If he played in Sacremento or Seattle or anywhere with a true point guard, he would excel. And Steve and Cat don't pass to him enough. And Cato is stealing his minutes. And he'll shoot better if he gets consistent prime time minutes.

    Just following the trend.

you know, I don't have real high expectations for Collier. I mean he's no Duncan. But I think if it wasn't for Mobes and his damn ball hogging and Rudy and his damn isos Collie would be a 17 and 10 player. But noooo. No motion offense for us. No Collie featured on offense launching the trey like we all know he can. I mean, the dude was a POWERHOUSE at Georgia Tech. How can this guy be frozen out and brushed to the side so quickly. This is the next Karl Malone(minus the elbows, hickness, receeding hairline, work ethic, quickness, and whatever else) for chrisakes! Give him a freaking chance! If anything good can be taken from this season it is the rally cry that it is time to open our Christmas present. And we must give thanks for the pleasure of seeing the pale black-socked, headband wearing mofo that is the JC.

    JC for starting minutes!!

One could apply your argument about the goofy slow down offense to any player on the Rockets who is not a ball hog. They're all suffocated out at the expense of good ( or subpar as the case may be ) games by SF and Cuttino!

I'm a big Jason Collier supporter, but I think his deficiencies were evident tonight. I was at the game, and it seemed to me that his problems were:

Defense - he couldn't defend a tree. He tries REALLY HARD and puts 110% effort out, but he can't stop anyone

Hands - he had at least 3 to 5 rebounds go right through his hands tonight. If he had slightly better hands, I think his entire game would improve, from rebounding to scoring and maybe even defense.

Caught offguard - Collier can muscle down low against smaller guys. But he seems to get bullied by other guys his size, but not all the time. Only sometimes, if the player makes a strong, quick, back to the basket move.

I still think he has what it takes to be a reliable backup in this league. His shot is really pretty nice, and he has a soft touch around the basket. He hustles as hard as anyone out there, and he's always in the action, even if he doesn't make the play.

Patience Grasshoppers. You guys have to remember that this is the first time he's played significant minutes for this many games in his NBA career. He's just started showing his shooting touch & is slowly getting his game legs under him. For all practical purposes, this is his rookie year. I saw Rudy demonstrating positioning to him during the game. He'll continue learning this year & I think we'll all see an improvement in his rebounding & defensive game next year.

Cat and Steve don't pass to anyone except each other. They also really went out of their way to help Langhi have another good game:rolleyes:

Most selfish team I've ever witnessed; when your best players will not share the ball, that sets the tone.

From the beginning, I have felt that Collier could be a serviceable and affordable backup Center. I am not blind to Colliers deficiencies but truly wonder how much of them can be attributed to a slow recovery from his knee surgery and a general lack of overall "game" conditioning?

At this point, there is no need to play Steve and Cat 40+ minutes. How about some "tall ball"? Collier, EG, Langhi/TMo, Torres, and Tierre for 5 to 10 minutes. It couldn't hurt at all and may be very informative. Except for those whose minds are already made up. :)

    Gater, agree.

The "small ball" was really effective down the stretch last nite. RT didn't have to worry about not tanking this game, so why the hell not give the other players a real look?

Oscar was really emerging early in the season. Then he sat, got injured, and he sat, and he sat. Had to do wonders for his self confidence. And if you're going to give Langhi a chance, keep him in the game and get him more than 3 shots!! And I was really impressed how Steve and Cat worked go help Langhi have another good game:rolleyes:

RT's thinking this year eludes me
