JvG seemed to enjoy a smaller, eight man rotation where each player got more minutes. Ironically enough I seem to recall that Adelman pretty much had the same philosophy. That seems to have gone out the window now with guys like Landry and Novak seeing substantial playing time recently.

Will Adelman finalize a rotation after he's tested everybody on the bench? And are you happy with the idea of playing everybody and their dog off the bench, or do you think it's a recipe for disaster?

9-10 in the regular season 8 in the playoffs with maybe a 9th guy getting a look here and there

if everyone can contribute somehow..then why not play as many as possible? It's not like we're tinkering with any existing "winning" formula here. Heck, with our current record, we need as much help as we can get. And if players like Francis, James, and Snyder can contribute, even better. But the fact of the matter is, their play doesn't fit our system and they've taken themselves out of the rotation.

The trend in the league has been moving towards matchups in the last few years. Play whoever have you have that can put you in the best situation to win. The "old-school" style of Van Gundy ball where you play a fixed set rotation of 5-6 players are slowly fading out.

I think this is good for NBA basketball in general. If you've got the talent, then use it. What's the point of drafting every year if you're not going to play them? I'm not saying you have to play every player just so they can get some PT. See if they've got what it takes to help the team and if they do, let them play limited minutes per game.

who cares. This team has enough talented players I'm not afraid of putting any of them on the floor. Even Mike James lol. Mix and Match. Who are we playing and what matchups are we facing.

id say it mostly depends on matchups + who doesnt have it going that night. if a pg is off like alston was then yeah u have to atleast try MJ a little and see if hes out of his epic shooting slump.

other than that I'd like to see more novak in the rotation while keeping it a 9 man rotation :)

Playing a larger rotation gives us more matchup options, fresher legs, and more experience for the rookies before the playoffs. also allows us to determine who really deserves time in the playoffs. its all good.

Play everybody and their dog: Francis, James, Synder...they all have match-up advantages.

Good answer. The last game playing Novak and not playing Chuck made sense against GS. That will not always be the case. I like having shooters when teams want to pack it in down low and that means Novak, Head, Scola and Brooks. I like having Landry backing up Yao and I even think Bonzi presents a mismatch in some instances that is valuable. That's 10 guys in the rotation but not always and not absolute.

I'd say give everyone a few minutes and see who's the hottest that night and let them light up the other team for as long as they're hot... Even play Deke for rebounding and blocked shots against slow big centers.
