How are the players going to respond to Rudy T stepping down?

I bet they feel like those kids returning from a field-trip, who see they now have to go back to school.

 

I think the players that matter like Francis, Mobley, Mo, and Yao will be very upset. maybe not Yao as much, but definitly Steve Francis.

 

Depends on the reason for his departure. If its because of health reasons, then I am sure the players will understand and not have anything bad to say.

If he was forced out (not likely), then I am sure Steve will be chirping.

It will be interesting to see what Yao's reaction is.

 

Hopefully not all the same players will be back.

 

Fox 26 News has been covering the Rudy T story alot since the news broke. In a few minutes they are airing footage from this morning of Steve Francis reaction! Details to come...

 

Well, I don't know about all the other players, but Steve is on record as saying if Rudy goes, so does he.

 

Steve will whine like a little b****, but he'll be a better player because of this move. Yao will be disappointed, but rational about the change. Cat...he probably won't even be a Rocket next season, so who cares? And the rest of this team will be pissed since now they'll all be held accountable for their crappy play. This is a soft, lazy, undisciplined group of guys and if either Jeff Van Gundy or Larry Brown is brought in as coach, the laid back environment they've grown accustomed to over the last few seasons will mercifully come to an end.

 

why is it that steve francis will whine, but Yao will be rational, who are you? How do you know how these players think? if you like Yao better as a player than francis just say so but dont just assume Yao is a better person too.

Matt Sampsell talked to CD and Larry Smith. Both said they were totally surprised and hadn't heard anything about it. CD said he was heading to Rudy's house right now to find out what was up.

 

Whatever. Look you don't like anybody on the team but Yao Ming just admit it.

 

Batman covered it. No one would come on camera because not a single person in the Rockets organization had heard about it until this morning and everyone was shocked. I wonder since Doc Rocket supposedly knew about it a couple of days ago, that is surprising that not even CD was told that Rudy was negotiating a step down all week long.

 

Steve was interviewed by phone. Said a few times he didn't think it would really happen but the tone of his voice was one of resignation. Said a few times "I can't be mad... don't know how things work on the business side, etc... But I can't be mad, because I don't really think it's going to happen." Was asked what it'd be like to play for another coach and said stuff like 'it'd be tough but I don't think it'll happen.' Still with the tone of resignation. Was asked what Rudy meant to him and said he'd meant everything, that everything that'd happened for him (2 all-star appearances, etc.) was cause of Rudy. General impression I got was one of sadness but, again, resignation. Seemed like he was gonna be okay with it ultimately. Not a trace of anger or bitterness, just sadness.

CD and LS both declined to appear on camera. Berman said he'd be updating all day with a full report tonight at 9.

 

Maybe that's because CD might be the next one out the door.

I find steve's loyalty to rudy to be a positive reflection on his character.

"Whining like a little b****"? Well what do you call it when players like Penny Hardaway, Jordan, etc. conspire to get their coach canned? "Backstabbing like a little b****?"

 

When hasn't Francis whined? Unfortunately, because of his moping, the Rockets were duped in trading for him 4 years ago.
