houston trades: Hakeem Olajuwon $16,700,000 to toronto
houston trades: Carlos Rogers $2,200,000 to toronto
    TOTAL: $18,900,000
toronto trades: Charles Oakley $5,759,600 to chicago
toronto trades: Antonio Davis $5,500,000 to houston
toronto trades: Michael Stewart $3,520,000 to houston
toronto trades: Dell Curry $2,100,000 to houston
toronto trades: Alvin Williams $2,100,000 to chicago
    TOTAL: $18,979,600

chicago trades: Marcus Fizer $2,562,000 to toronto
    TOTAL: $2,562,000

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to houston and toronto being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. houston and toronto had to be within 15% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

houston would also receive a trade exemption of $7,880,000 (what the hell???) with this trade. This would have to be used within one calendar year from the date of this trade.

Be aware that this exemption will be extinguished if the team which possesses it falls below the cap by the combined amount of the exemptions it currently possesses.

    Houston:

We get Antonio Davis, Dell Curry, and Micheal Stewart....Micheal Stewart is a MUST, he can play backup C effectively....I'm not too cray about Dell Curry, but it's worth the prize....I think Curry can opt out in 2001....PLUS, Hakeem would be happy, on a contending team, who will get the touches after Vince? Hakeem....
I'd lov to do this trade, it works beautifully for Houston.....BUT, did u happen to notice that we receive a 7.8 million dollar exemption???is it a mistake?

    Toronto:

Davis hates playing C, and there are reports that he will opt out to play in a better market (not Canada, obviously)...Oakley also hate playing C, is obviously ageing too...So they finally get a true C (Hakeem), a backup SF/PF/C (Rogers, final contract year), AND they receive an excellent PF, young, with huge potential, can score AND pull down rebounds (Fizer)..........Vince would benefit from the double teams on Hakeem and eventually Fizer..

    Bulls:

Tim Floyd seems desperate for ANY sort of experienced players....I think Brand can move to the C position (especially in the East) and Oakley can play at PF, and they can switch for around 12 minutes per game...Also, Alvin Williams (free agent next year) can share minutes with Drew...Who does El-Amin think he's kidding with his .318 FG%?
Why not? they'll actually start winning some, and Floyd thinks this is not a team looking to the future anymore....Fizer never really got the hang of playing SF (Artest starting now) and Brand will definately take important minutes away from Fizer, who wants to Develop.....

The only problem I see with trade is that everyone, Houston to a lesser extent, will have SOME disrupted chemistry.....But I really think it's worth it....the 7.8 million exception is a also a PLUS, we can sign a SF or C to it next year.....ALSO, last but not least, MO is still "playing" for/against us (u choose, lol [IMG] )

Maybe we can do MO+ 7.8mill exception for a SF? There are so many possibilities...

Anyways guys, what do you think?

Sane, my sources do not think your trade is based in reality. Please don't clutter up this BB with fake trades. Thank you, Bob.

Okay.. you have to admit that Sane should deserve at least a nod over the OTHER fantasy deals that we've seen on this board. I mean, he DID take time to actually explain his reasoning well, and WHY each team would make this trade, and his arguements aren't horrible.

What I'm saying is... even if it's far-fetched and wishful thinking, at least it's not another "Hey guys we should trade Jason Collier, Dan Langhi, and a 2nd rounder for Antawn Jamison, Elton Brand, Lamar Odom, Chris Webber, Kobe Bryant, and Jason Kidd... Is Collier worth that? He's had some good games lately..." thread.

Anyway... that's my opinion... And I hate trade scenarios...

I think Sane is actually on the right track here just that the combination of players could be different. When I read yesterday that Antonio Davis may walk in the offseason, I felt that acquiring him would be a major boost for the Rockets. Davis is the ideal banger I'd like to pair with Mo Taylor at the PF spot. Big burly PF that rebounds, defends and sets excellent screens; Antonio Davis would be a nice fit. The question I wondered is whether or not the Rockets can get Davis for Olajuwon and still save some cap room ie. not get Davis and pick up 10 mil of trash contracts, instead get Davis and pick up as many FAs as possible.

In any case, I dont think Sane's version of it will work b/c there is no way the Raptors deal Oakley, but I think they would be willing to part with Davis to get Olajuwon esp since Dream has shown a resurgence, and they were offering a lot for him in the past. Plus, this time around, Dream practically is asking to be traded.

In any case, I found two definite FAs on the Toronto roster, Alvin Williams and Corliss Williamson. Michael Stewart I dont think would make a lot of sense here b/c the Rockets would have Cato and Collier at the 5 spot and there is no need to waste 3.5 mil in cap space. Stewart would be necessary to make the deal work tho. If the Bulls feel they need a young center with potential that can jump and blocks shots, they may be interested in taking on Stewart for a draft pick or something. This is what I came up with and tested it out in real GM, it works.

Houston Gets: Antonio Davis, Corliss Williams, Alvin Williams (Dell Curry would work as well if he is a FA)

Toronto Gets: Hakeem Olajuwon, a draft pick out of Chicago's stash

    Chicago Gets: Michael Stewart

Don't you think that trade is just a TAD slanted towards the Rox, but more importantly, leaves Chicago out in the cold!! I mean, Chicago gives up a pick, and all they get in return is Yogi Stewart?! Be realistic!!

Or better yet, quit talking about trading Dream!!
