Between the Rockets and the Washington Wizards.
    Rockets get
Juan Howard and 1st round pick(2001)
Washington gets Hakeem and Mo taylor.

Why it works for Wahington:- They get rid of high priced player that they are desperately trying to unload and in return get a whole lot of salary cap for this offseason. Washington can basically waive hakeem and let him sign with any team he wants to.
Why it works for the Rockets:-We get a relatively overpaid player but i think Juan needs a change of cenery, he can still put up points and get some rebounds. We also get there first round pick which should be in the top 5 in this years draft or may be the number 1 pick overall.
    What do you guys think??

I don't know if Jordan would go for a deal that cost him his 1st round pic. He wants to unload Juwan bad but he hated being left out of last years 1st round. Also, I would hate to see Juwan Howard in a Rockets uniform. Talk about a useless leach on the salary cap.

    Are you kidding?

Juwon and their number one pick?

I do that in a heartbeat. Juwon may not be spectacular but he's a solid 15/10 guy and he's comes off the cap admist a rich crop of free agents. Meanwhile, we get their number one pick, which if it ain't the number one pick, it'll be top three -- plus our other picks!!! Talk about filling needs guys -- we'd have a legit shot at Loren Woods (this guy has stud written all over him) plus we'd have our own lottery pick (yes, I said lotto) which could be used to select another big man, traded for a higher pick, or used on a 3. Then we'd have Milwaukee's pick and maybe's Detroit's pick on top of that!!!

That being said, it'd never happen.

I'm also not a big fan of Juwan Howard but i think if we can get there first round pick then we should do it. I will agree with Stone Cold Hakeem, that the amazing draft that we'll have could be really worth it and this years class is loaded with talent. We can also give Vancouver there pick that we owe. Webber used to stink before he came to Sacramanto and i think that similar things could happen to Juwan too. The guy just needs to get out of DC, i understand that he'll always be overpaid but i think his numbers will improve coming to a team like the rockets. Hey may be we could trade our second round pick too to make the deal even more sweater from the Wizards side. Besides if the Wizards make this trade, they can be contenders very soon because right now there salary cap looks really awfull.

Even moreso than Matt Maloney and Kelvin Cato? Juwan has been playing very well this year, but I agree with you that even at his current level, there may be no justifying that salary. Hehe. [IMG]

"No Brain Grant, no trade." -- Typos are a b**** as ZRB is holding Rocket trades hostage while he seeks a brain. Conspiracy theorists say this would explain why Hakeem has yet to be traded...

Hakeem wants to be traded to a contender.

Out of respect, Rockets would never send him to Washington.

There's no way you'd ever get their pick... which is probably going to be #2 (unless the Rockets sweep in from the 11th spot to claim #1 [IMG]).

Yao Ming will be worth $17M of 18/9.

Maybe Juwan would be willing to renegotiate his contract for the sake of the team.Maybe more years for less per year?

This is one of the things that really pisses me off.

A guy comes out of college and he disappoints. Instead of looking at the player for what he is, they look at what they expected him to be, and, seeing how he doesn't meet the original expectation, they say he sucks.

Juwan Howard is averaging 17.5 points a game, 7 rebounds a game, and is shooting nearly 48% from the field!!! Last time I checked, we don't have any forward doing that.

I would do this deal in a second, mainly because of a first-rounder involved. I can't see Washington doing it, but still...

******* it, people. Give me all the "the biggest wastes of money in professional sports history" you can, if they all play as well as this one.

This is not new. That deal was approached. Seriousily discussed and did not happen for any number of reasons. Mostly, the Rockets would have to buy into losing the (major) benefit of adding tons of space next year.
And next year is looking more and more like a pretty good market.

Incidentally it would not take Hakeem AND Mo to get it done.

I would defenately do this deal too. However, there is no way that Washington will do it. Maybe this would work:

Rockets: Hakeem + the Rockets two first rounders this year. There picks would probably be 12th and 25th(bucks).

Wizards: J.Howard and their first pick.

    PG:Francis
    SG:Mobley
    SF:Howard
    PF:Taylor
    C:Yao Ming or Loren Woods
