they have won four in a row now and seem on a role after bombing the Expos with 13 runs. Got to love the new kid, Wade Miller, who is getting good pub on ESPN. Hopefully, the Astros can find a way to get good use out of Lima or a way to get rid of him because he is really stinking up the place. Elarton will be a 15-19 game winner this season. Reynolds will eventually come around and we got a good 5th day started in Bottenfield. All we need to do is shore up the bully with trades or get some people in the off-season.

Astros will make a good run this season ans should be either a wild card team or the Central Division winners.

They swept the last place Expos...

Take out the Brewers and Expos and the Astros record is 8-12.

Maybe if they could handle the good teams in the league, I'd have some optimism, but we're talking about the Brewers and Expos.

Take out the Astros from the Brewers and they're 15-9, not too shabby.

As noted above, minus the astros the brewers are a pretty good team and we kicked their ass. Also, St. Louis has potential and we were all over them. The main problem thus far has been the Pirates, with a little bit of the Mets, and Braves mixed in. WHile these teams should be good, they arent. SO the Expos aside, as far as our schedule is concerned, we have thus far beaten the better teams and lost to the worse teams--record wise at this point in the season.

Of course, I do understand the point though, and we can see what happens tonight against the Phillies.

If you take out the sub .500 teams for all the ball clubs and you'll notice they are all .500 or less. Look at the Yankees. The key to success in baseball is beating the bad teams and playing .500 against the good teams. That's pretty normal. The Astros are going to be ok.

Take away the sub-.500 teams from their record and there's virtually no one to play!! Geez, there are so few teams playing good baseball in the NL right now. The Cubs are playing the best...but how confident are you that will continue?? If the playoffs started today, we'd be the wild card team. We'd match up with the Cubs. I'd love our chances against the Cubs, Phils and Dodgers!!! There are no strong teams that scare me at this point. And we've played roughly 1/4 of the season already.

I guess my whole point is a thread shouldn't be started because we swept the Montreal Expos. If we're getting excited about beating up on the last place team in the National League, then we have serious problems.

Sure we scored 13 runs in the last game, we also gave up 7 which isn't a very good sign.

Yeah yeah, we've won four in a row, we won three of those games against the horrible expos.

I hope we'll win the next few series against the Phillies, Reds, and Cubs, then I'd get excited, but beating on the Expos is hardly even noteworthy.
