Mateen Cleaves? I love this guys game. He has a winning mentality, is an awesome court leader and can distribute the ball with efficiency. He may lack some of the outside shooting, but isn't that what they said about Jason Kidd and Grant Hill? And besides, SF can move to the 2 and be our main option. I've noticed Francis' assists have gone way down lately and Im thinking maybe he isn't meant to a PG, if he can't learn the position by now maybe he never will be a great pg, but he will be a great PLAYER. We could use him as our Iverson, and Cleaves as our Snow (but with a bigger role)

since Cleaves isn;t expected to be drafted high, lets trade down for a vet SF, then draft this guy. Rudy loves selecting seniors. I dunno but I thought this could be a possibility, especially if we lose Cat.

im not too crazy about mateen, something about him i dont like. I just dont think he is gonna have a great pro career.
besides, that would give us the shortest backcourt in the league.

are there other good pg's that may be worth a mid first ? barkley (like him morethen cleeves) or cota ?

How about we focus on the frontcourt? Our backcourt of Norris, Francis, Anderson and Mobley (hell, even Drew) is not even close to our weak point.

    We need big men.

Is it any coincidence that we are the only team mentioned in the national anthem?

    I didn't think so!

Why Cleaves when Barkley is obviously the better PG? Also why not keep Francis at PG where he's most happy and drafting Morris Peterson instead?

Don't draft Cleaves.. he runs funny!

Seriously, Francis has shown he'll be a fine point guard. Why are his assists down recently ? Well we've handed out some whippings and Francis has played about 25 minutes in each game - he goes out there, schools the other PG for a bit, calls a play and chucks the ball to someone else for a bit, then sits on the bench for the rest of the game and laughs while Moochie Norris lights up the other PG and plays hard.
It's pretty obvious that Steve is a team player and he doesn't give a damn about personal glory (like racking up stats so he can win the ROY) - Francis is a competitor and a good PG!
Let's draft like RF34 said and get ourselves a Mo Peterson!!

I wouldn't mind moving Francis to the 2 if, and only if, we find a big PG. I don't like the matchups of having two small guards. There are too many teams with big SG (Kobe for example) which would kill us defensively.
This is a very good draft for PGs though (Barkley, Cleaves, Scoonie) who all may be abailable in the mid to late first round. If we do pick up another 1st round pick fr Detroit in the late 1st, I wouldn't mind taking one of these guys as more trade bait.
I figure with our 1st round pick that there should be some nice non-PGs avaialble, so hopefully we won't need to consider a PG early on.
