It looks like New Jersey might let Nenad walk. I know he's still coming off that injury, he's not a banger, but I think he'd fit well in the Adelman offense because he can hit that 15 footer

If he comes cheap and can still play like the player he was pre-injury (he's only 25 years old), he could be huge for us off the bench.

The only thing is that he could probably start for another team, and I got a feeling someone will overpay for his services.

I really want a backup center. We cant afford to sex Mutombo for 82 games out of the season + playoffs

True except, Mutombo is a better team defender and dont have to play 82 games in a season with our PF log jam even if we let Landry walk.

All of our PF's including Dorsey are undersized. I agree Nenad is nowhere close to Mutombo on the defensive end. But why cant we have both?

I didnt mean we have to dump Mutombo, but it certainly would be nice to find someone who can backup Yao, can play everyday, and has a little bit of size. Diop fit that bill perfectly. I prefer a banger who can rebound and block shots, but Adelman has been known how to utilize a finesse player like Krstic in the past. Ive always been a fan of his offensive game. He can be very productive and help with the scoring load off the bench...It's just a thought.

If we traded for Krstic, expect us to say bye bye to Landry and Mutombo will go to Boston...

I don't like big guys who don't rebound...

Maybe it's a prejudice born out of my dislike of Mo Taylor.

You know Dorsey is not really undersized if you count his wing span and the fact being undersized with a wing span helps increase his speed and quickness. He is 4.5 inches longer then Landry and probably every sence of the word quick, stronger and more athletic then Landry. I think his upside is more then Landry as well in terms of impact.

Give Dorsey a chance before we start throwing money at 7 footers that are constantly injured and can't do anything except hit the J...

VC made Krstic into a good player for one season. Now he's a shadow of his former self after the injuries and without him Krstic is a scrub. Plus he's a restricted free agent.

If it wasn't for his knee injury he'd get the max. IMO he's still going to get around at least $8-10M.

What we need i think is a big muscle instead of a thin centre, we need a guy like Dorsey, but we had got one .so there is no need to spend extra money on kristic.

I don't think he'll come cheap, and if he has a choice he won't want to come to a team where he won't be starting for the forseeable future.

Agreed. He is the same size as Ben Wallace (6'8"), yet people on the BBS overlook that fact. Ben's lack of height was the reason he went undrafted, yet his long wingspan and spectacular strength and athleticism have enabled him to become a multiple-time All-Star center in this league. While I'm by no means saying that Dorsey will be nearly as good, he is built in the same mold as Wallace.

How big is he? On TV he looks about 6'7"- 6' 8" about the size of a tall shooting guard these days? :p

If getting Kristic means reducing Yao Ming's minutes I'm all for it.

I think Krstic may be only an inch or two longer than Dorsey... in terms of standing reach. Dorsey is also much thicker, which thickness is what it takes to bang guys.

Again, the fact that the top of Krstic's (balding) head is 4 or 5 inches higher than Dorsey's is not very relevant since you catch rebounds, block shots, and shoot balls with your hands, not the top of your heads.

I'd imagine some other team will outbid the Rockets for Krstic, a team more in need of interior offense, for exampe. The Rockets got enough of interior offense with Yao, Scola and Landry and have other needs.

In terms of a Nets S&T, I'd think Boki would be a better fit.

But I do think it would be cool to sign Krstic, just so the Red Rowdys can chang "Go 'Nad!" when Nenad goes to the line to shoot FTs.

Amen! I could not have said it better myself. When will people learn?

By the way, the Nets will either keep Krstic or sign-and-trade him to some team that drastically overpays for him. PASS.
