It works salary wise. The Clips get to lower long term salary for a vet they are no longer starting. It also works with James + Head (but then I would want an extra 2nd rounder) or James + Snyder. We get a player to improve our shooting/scoring and reducing overlap/glut in PG (and we only need one of Wells or Snyder IMO).

I am not suggesting this to reunite Cat/Francis in a basking in old glory (or inglory) kinda way. They would play some together, but not a ton. I just think Cat brings a lot of what we need (and maybe available for nonmajor assets because of his age/salary/team situation) and allows Tmac to play a lot more 3 in a quicker/better shooting lineup. Cat's moxy wouldn't be a bad thing either.

While we're at it, how about we try to get Kelvin Cato back so that we can officially have traded nothing for Tracy

Id prefer Maggette. Toughness, consistency, and the attack the basket attitude seem more appealing as opposed to Mobley's suspect shot selection. Although he provides range he is streaky. Too bad Dunleavy and Maggette are finally getting along.

I think we should move on and stop telling old stories.

I even suspect bringing back Steve is not good to team chemistry.

To get Maggette we have to offer serious assets--at minimum Battier or Scola+.

Since everyone thinks we need another PG, I hear Moochie Norris is available.

Agreed. But last year we could have done a "my problem is your problem" swap (ala Spanoulis/Scola) with Wells at the center and came up roses!

Another idea is a leadership presence. Cassell who aspires to coach and has been there is clearly that guy. Clipps would surely love to hand him to us for as little as a contract (Sura?) and Brooks.

But wagering Brooks is something the old rockets management would do. Not this one.

Any critical thinkers out there? I'd like to hear some practical alternatives.

I guess Maggette is the closest offered. Battier and Head works salary wise and I guess somewhat close value wise. Maybe the Clips would go for that. Personally I'd rather keep Battier and add Cat for redundent pieces--but I am open to the Maggette option.

Rockets are not trading Battier for Maggette. Low IQ players have not done well with this team under either Van Gundy or Adelman, or with the Kings team under Adelman.

The best option with Clips? Tim Thomas.

Steve + Snyder would get it done. Mike James also works salary-wise. Question is whether Clips want to trade Tim Thomas, given Brand is out and Thomas has a starting job.

That's just a phantom excuse from Dunleavy.

That explains how Marco Belinelli was drafted so high. He had Moochie setting him up all day.

Probably got a lot of boards from Moochie bricks too.

according to Peter Vecey the clippers are quietly trying to move Catino Mobley..but I agree I believe the cat would be a nice addition to the Rockets.

How about we get younger instead of older and declining. Mobley would be nice, but in the age of the luxury tax, Mobley's 3 years and 27.3 million price tag is definitely not worth it.

No, thanks. The chemistry is pretty bad already with a lame duck coach. We dont need more drama.
