Can he play PF instead of just center? Rumor has it that Denver likes Head (who doesn't) and has too many bigs already. His contract is on the books through 09-10 at $8 mill per. Yes he's 33 but played like a badass last year. DPOY anyone? Successful Scenario Due to Houston and Denver being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Denver had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Would Denver really do this? They get a starting PG in Alston and a good young shooter in head. It frees up some $ with Sura's expiring. Also, they can move Nene to the C and let Kenyon play PF.
If we had camby we would be unstoppable. Putting camby next to yao would make them the greatest combo since peanut butter and jelly. But it's not going to happen. Why? Because it's never that easy.
Holy crap, this guy just solved our off-season problems. Someone get this guy a 2008 Championship ring. Oh yeah, by the way, why does Denver want to trade the Defensive Player of the Year for our role players, and retired, injured crap?
Of course everyone wants this to happen. I think everyone would be pretty happy if we got Camby for Head + filler...but Denver would be out of their mind to do it. I think they'd be more interested in moving Nene than Camby...but I wouldn't want Nene
Camby will probably be traded, I just don't see why we don't have a shot at him. We could offer Head and Battier if needed. If people think Denver will get more for Camby then tell me what they'd get.
better yet, rumor has it that san antonio likes brooks.. lets put together a package and trade for tim duncan..
So people think that Duncan and KG are of the same caliber as Camby? That's news to me. One difference is that both Duncan and KG will be be on the same teams in the fall but Camby will be playing elsewhere.
Well, Camby is a former Knick....wait...JVG isn't here anymore, so no to the glass man. Camby is always in danger of getting injured. With Yao and Tracy not being the epitome of durability, adding Camby just means the three of them will never be on the count together except in pre-season or practice.
What are you basing that on? Why would Denver trade Camby? Sure they have a glut of bigs, but that means they'd want to move the others - NOT their number 1 option and defensive player of the year!
Shane Battier 6-8 SF from Duke 10.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in 36.5 minutes Bob Sura 6-5 from Florida State No games yet played in 2006/07 Incoming Marcus Camby 6-11 C from Massachusetts 11.2 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 3.2 apg in 33.9 minutes Change in team outlook: +1.1 ppg, +7.6 rpg, and +1.1 apg. Denver Trade Breakdown Outgoing Marcus Camby 6-11 C from Massachusetts 11.2 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 3.2 apg in 33.9 minutes Incoming Shane Battier 6-8 SF from Duke 10.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in 36.5 minutes Bob Sura 6-5 from Florida State No games yet played in 2006/07 Change in team outlook: -1.1 ppg, -7.6 rpg, and -1.1 apg. I think Battier and Sura could get it done since Denver needs 3 point shooting in the worse way and it would allow them to save some money. Throw in Head if we have to and then we can pick Francis to take Heads place.
And then you can start a thread on how we solve our hole at SF, perimeter defense, and outside shooting.
denver wont want our guys. they have carmelo...why would they want battier? with carmelo (who's getting a raise this season), iverson, and nene as their centerpieces, and kenyon martin on the books, theyd want expiring contracts. sura, snyder, vspan, and luther would be the only way to get things done.
You need to keep T-mac out of foul trouble, while still putting a lock-down defender on the opponets leading scorer. Correct?
