Fred Carter was a tough guy in his playing days. Very hard work ethic and knows the game inside out. I believe he coached for a period of time. He's on ESPN as an analyst and always seems to make good points. He knows the game and I think he could relate with the players. I don't know much about him, but perhaps if not the head coach, bring him in as an assistant? Just a thought.
Hell naw. I'd rather have Kenny Smith if you want a freaking TV analyst. Of course he knows alot about the game, but so do many more people. Just because he's on TV doesn't mean he has the qualifications to be a head coach which involves much more than knowledge, i.e. having the players respect, implementing a system, and so much more. I don't see why he'd want to be an assistant, and I don't see why we'd want him.
He isn't just and analyst. The guy was a hardnosed player. He would be a good assistant under Larry Brown or Pat Riley.
I really hate how he always points to the camera whenever they say his name. It bugs the hell out of me. I was watching NBA tonight and I like how he described Houston's offense as "video game" basketball though. It's so true.
