A legit, scoring shooting guard, that could take Von's role, if not a larger one.

    In 2007-2008......

In 27 minutes a game, He averaged 15 points, 2 assists and 3 rebounds on 45% shooting and 41% from 3.

    He is 24 years old.

We could get him for nothing.

My question for you is, Could he be a solid prospect/asset?

His stocked has dropped vastly, could be a good time to pounce on a young SG. Much higher potential than Chase and JT imo...

McCants was a stud amongst the best in college (ACC) and tested off the charts.

It's kind of surprised me that Rashad hasn't broken out by now. That said, I would love to have him as a Rocket. The guy has big upside with all that athleticism. And though he might be shooting a mediocre 45 % from the floor McCants CAN shoot it....evd.41% from 3 (plus his college shooting history).......and I would expect both of those to go up with us.

I always sort of thought the Rockets should try to get him from Minny just to take a look.

Never understood why he did not break out more up there.

He'd have to sign for the minimum, wouldn't he? We don't have much of the MLE left and already have a cap problem. A possible cheap solution, though. Nice find. :)

Not a bad guy to pick up fromthe Wafer wire. The team already has a ton of contracts.. is he worth taking a flyer on more than, say, Jermain Taylor?

I think so. If Rashsad McCants is ever going to be anything, it will happen in the next 2 years. I don't think it would hurt to take a LONG look at Rashad in a definite position of need. Could be a lottery pick steal from the crappy franchise that is the Twolves...

Letting Von walk and then signing Rashad McCants for even less would be the definition of a Morey move. I could see him playing well off a somewhat healthy McGrady.

In short, I would approve of this acquisition.

yeah sure , why not! if he comes for cheap i would love him on our team, 6'4 with a 6'11 wingspan and great athleticism, his more than capable to play the two......... :D

    I agree.

Wasn't getting much attention on the Timberwolves anyway.

Perhaps... but does it not strike you as strange that, if he's worth something more than just your replacement level guy who might make something happen, two young teams who are building for the future would have made zero effort to retain him?

When talking about Wafer, Morey did say Von was a guy they kinda just kept an eye on and had interest in through the years.. Same with James White. Perhaps McCants is one of these guys. Don't know what makes a guy stand out among all these players trying to make it in the big leagues.

    Thread title sucks.

But I would be okay with the move if it were to happen.

We can definitely agree on that DD. I'd take him over Von.

    McCants.

His last name contains a word that means inability.

    He sucks.

    No Thanks.
