We could have a Texas hold 'em tournament (anyone else caught the championships on TV?) for Rockets tickets. The entrants team up to buy two 6 or 12 game season ticket packages (depending on the number of entrants) and play a tournament for the tickets. With a 6 game package, first place gets three games, second place gets two games, third place gets one game and the fourth and fifth place get a ticket each to the set of tickets not taken by the other winners. With a 12 game package, the winner gets 4 games, second gets three, third gets two and fourth gets one with fifth through eigth getting one of the leftover tickets. If we go with the cheap seats (just about all I could afford), buy in would be less than $20 each. Might make for a fun evening or two.
I'lll play. I have some serious chips we can use. Official size and weight that I picked up at the gamblers general store in Vegas. Lets do this.
That is 4 so far. We need a total of 10 to make the buy in less than $20, but I think I have a friend or two at work that would be interested. Look around for others that might be interested and report how many you can get for a game. If we get it put together fast enough, we could probably play this weekend.
I'll watch it on ESPN, but if that guy shows up with the Steve Francis jersey, watch out. He's a pro.
I know another dude (a rocket's fan too) who I think will want to play. Only thing is, I hope we play hold'em cause thats my game. I know nothing about Omaha, Stud, and other games.
Okay, that is enough people if we can find a good time. I would propose Saturday during the day to start as my first option and Friday during the day or late afternoon to start. If you are available either of those days, email andy@sexiestgeekalive.com.
When I read the thread title, I imagined that someone would claim that Francis, Mobley and Moochie spend too much time shuffling the cards and never deal them to Yao.
