How about a Mike James clone with better passing skills. DEE BROWN of Illinois. Here is the profile.profile Summary of profile: Unselfish and really can shoot the ball. Great spot up shooter. One of the best running on the fast break. Great on ball Defense. His weakness is that he can't break down his man with awesome dribbles or jab steps. Either he will blow by them or take a shot. These are what a Rocket PG should be able to do. 1. shoot open shot and make them.(check) 2. run fastbreak and get some points(check) 3. can stay up with Terry's and Nash's(check) Our PGs dont need to be the creators since T-mac will be creating for them. He fits in great coming off of bench. I know he doesn't have height but he is quick and can bring energy off the bench. He should be available with our 32nd pick. Draftexpress has him going 37th. what do you guys think???
Dee Brown would be a decent pick w/ our 2nd Rounder, but I think there are better players we could pickup at #32 that we could use more. PJ Tucker- PJ would finally give TMac a decent backup. While he isn't much of a shooter, Tucker provides a lot of toughness and fire that we could use off the bench. Good defender that can run the floor, great rebounder for his size, and can score in a variety of ways. Steve Novak- The 2nd coming of Air Bullard? Novak is one of the best shooters in the draft and we all know we could use some shooting. Novak could provide some rest for TMac and maybe even throw him at the 4 to stretch the defense. Kevin Pittsnogle- See Novak Mike Gansey- I think Gansey and Tucker are big sleepers this year. Gansey is a very smart player that can shoot the 3. He does a lot of things well and can be one of those energy guys. Reminds me a lot of Jon Barry w/ the way he shoots and hustles on the court. The kid never stops moving.
Since you say he's a Mike James clone, can we afford to wait 5-6 years for him to develop an NBA level game?
