    Some highlights:

    The Awesome Islamic Law system:

Panetta better watch his back. You don't want to piss of Hillary.

This a great Read. It is seriously troubling with what went on over there. It sounds davis was not the kind of guy you want to send to a volatile situation. It sounds like two guys that davis killed probably deserved it, but the third guy seemed like just a bystander. The fact that you can pay to make the situation go away is just a terrible aspect of sharia law.

    From wikiedia....

"Charges were dropped and Davis was released after payment to the families of the two people he had shot.[10][11][89] He was released under a principle of Sharia (Islamic law) that allows murder charges to be dismissed if diyya is paid to the deceased's families (if and only if, they agreed without any pressure), an arrangement which is legal and common in Pakistan.[89][90] According to Al Jazeera, the families' lawyer said that the families were forced to accept the deal.[90]
A senior Pakistani official stated that between $1.4 and $3 million was paid to families of the deceased. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated that the U.S. government had not paid money for Davis to be released.[11][89] Davis was also fined Rs20,000 by the judge for possessing illegal firearms.[91] An attorney representing the families said that the Pakistani government paid the diyat, but U.S. officials indicated that the U.S. government would reimburse Pakistani authorities.[92][93] Asad Manzoor Butt, a lawyer who had been representing the deceased's relatives, told the media outside the jail that he had been detained for several hours by the prison administration and the heirs had been forced to sign the diyat papers.[91]"

I dont think you can just make it go away. Both parties have to agree on a compensation. It seems that in this case, the families were forced to accept it? And if they were, then technically they did not follow the sharia law?

The irony in all this is that although we hate the sharia law, we used the sharia law to get Davis out of there.

No sympathy for those two faced liars in Pakistan. When you're hiding Usama bin Laden, the world's most wanted terrorist, right next to your West Point-equivalent, umm, yeah you really can't talk.

Pakistan has long turned their backs on the US way before this incident. At the time when we were hunting Bin Laden at Tora Bora, US intelligence and hired Afghan warriors were positioned on the Afghan side of the mountain and Pakistani military troops were positioned at their borders to arrest/prevent escapees going to their country.

This is exactly what happened when Bin Laden and 1000 of this troups escaped during a ceasefire. A 100 Taliban members were arrested but a few days later, ALL of them managed to escape. Either they all have some kind of Houdini in them or they were just set free and we know where Bin Laden eventually ended up hiding.

This was one of the reasons why US could not trust Pakistan and kept them out of the loop during the raid of his compound.
